Completely Freaked Out!!

Hi All

As you may recall, just before Christmas I wrote to the group about my

pain management doctor's office getting raided. I thought that was

bad enough, but it gets worse.

I was over at the pain clinic today. It's the first time I've talked

at any length with anyone since the raid occurred. The place was

close to chaos. They had twice the staff and doctors on duty than are

normally there. Even with that, the staff was having a very difficult

time getting my prescriptions together.

When I asked what the problem was, the answer floored me.

The Feds/DEA took the patient files!!! They took the damn originals,

without so much as a word to anyone!!!

My pharmacist is absolutely horrified by this. She quoted chapter and

verse what the law says about taking patients' files. Apparently ,

the law states that they can be copied, and the copies taken, but the

originals are not to leave the office.

I am suddenly so appalled with the federal government, I don't even

have words for it. That such a thing can happen here, with no

recourse for the people they've hurt, is beyond words. I told my

husband that I planned to telephone the Feds next week. He looked at

me like I'd fallen on my head and suggested that would be a serious

mistake. He fears that if I make any waves, they'll be apt to show up

on our doorstep.

My pharmacist told me that her doctor is a great guy and an excellent

physician. She seriously recommended that I should go to him

promptly. She said she will tell him all about what kind of person I

am and fax him a complete list of my prescriptions -- going back as

far as he may want them. I'm going to call him on Monday.

This is so freaking insane. I feel sick to my stomach.

We have a doc and his wife here who are in jail and they are saying they have

killed 47 people due to over prescribing pain meds. The feds raided their pain

managment office and took all files, all everything. Then 3 months later they

put them in jail.

These people who died go back some 10 years, but they say all the deaths are

because the doc over prescribed the pain meds. The families of those who died

have been quoted in the paper and on other media stating that some of them died

from things like heart attacks, etc.. but the feds say it is due to to much pain

meds.

Clients of the doc by the hundreds have rallied to his side but all to no avial.

His wife is in jail because she worked there and knew of it. His personal family

all state that he in no way would do this he was simply trying to help people

who are in constant pain live a life without pain.

My primary told me to no longer go to any pain management docs. He would treat

me. This was over a year ago. He would not tell me why except to say it was in

my best interest and to trust him. I did and this doctor and wife are the

second in our area. I am sure he knew something but was not free to share it

with me.

So its going on everywhere, what are we going to do? One thing is to keep

copies of everything pertaning to us!
