http://www.nationalmssociety.org/Meds-InterferonBeta1aRib.asp I did not see any reference

to high blood pressure as a side-affect of Rebif, but then I only looked

at three sites, and chose this one to send to you. Hang in there!

n

Valene, this does not sound childish!

I think, and this is only my own opinion, that you should contact the

physician who can see you first, and

enquire about the effect, if any, of

Rebif. Please call a doctor tomorrow!

We love you on this list, and we need

to know that you are alright! Highest

hopes for you, with heaps of love,

n

Should I be worried?

I had my blood pressure taken today, and I'm a little scared. It registered as: 185/108. As you all know, I haven't really been feeling all that well. I was thinking it was because of the Rebif. Could the Rebif be causing the high blood pressure? Or Is the high blood pressure the source of my feeling so poorly. As I've said before, my next appt. with my neuro is May 10th. Should I wait until then to say something to my doctor, or should I call her sooner?

I know this is making me sound rather childish, but I never have cared for doctors too much anyway. I just don't like to go. It's a mental thing I know, but I always feel like when I have a physical problem, I'll be mistaken as a hypochondriac.

What do you all think? My fiance is worried about this. He can't stand to see anyone sick, especially me.

God bless you all...

I would definitely call and ask about the high blood

pressure. High blood pressure cannot be imagined and

I'm sure that whatever the cause is, the doctor will

want to help you lower it.

Val,

Same here- I looked up Rebif side effects and didn't see anything about high blood pressure.

Here is what I found on if you have high blood pressure - 140/90mmHg is the level of blood pressure used to diagnose high blood pressure. If your blood pressure is consistently raised at these levels and above, it will need to be treated. Treatment may involve making changes to your lifestyle and/or taking medication. This level of 140/90 mmHg is the level for high blood pressure for everyone, whether you are male or female, young or old.

At least give the doctor a call to see if you need to come in early. Worry doesn't help - I know what you're saying about feeling like a hypochondriac, I feel like that sometimes too-

but it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks- we have to take care of ourselves and we are the only ones that know our bodies.

Take care,

Val,

I agree with ,

First off this isn't childish and please don't feel that way. Hey,

" But it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks- we have to take care of ourselves and we are the only ones that know our bodies"

We are the only ones that know our bodies and after all the fiasco I have had with neurologists, goes to show you that THEY are the hypocondriacs, money grubbing, don't know what there talking about all the time doctor's. One thing I have learned DO NOT just take 1 opionion from a neurologist. Second opionions are important since some care more about money that the patients well being.

Thank you Darlene and ,

I know you ladies are correct. I never did get around to calling a doctor about the BP.

I did, however have my BP taken again today. In fact, I had it done twice. Both times it was within the normal range. I'm still not feeling as well as I should, but at least I'm not nearly as worried as before.

I appreciate the advise so much. And I think you are right Darlene, I am seeking another neurologist right now. I am also seeking legal help. I'm going to try one last time to get social security and/or disability. If I don't get something done soon, I fear that I may become a complete basket case.

Have a blessed evening...
