Guest guest Posted January 21, 2008 Report Share Posted January 21, 2008 That's not how it works, they base it on quarters you have worked to get your SSDI pay and then the SSI is applied to bring you up to the level that is acceptable. If you have children, they get half of what you make a month but only if they are under 18. You should be able to get a payment based on half of your husband's earnings. They don't take anything away from him to do that. Look at the website that was posted because this is just the short answer, but you should be able to.
