Initially my doctor said it would probably stop on its own. When he started to lose big blood clots he was given an immediate ENT appointment at the hospital (My experience of the NHS to date has always been very good). His nose was cauterized on one side and the problem disappeared. My son had a heavy cold just prior to this and bad cough so I had been using a vaporizer at night. The specialist said this can sometimes dry the lining of the nose resulting in nose bleeds. Hope this helps. Incidentally it is myself who has IGA not him!
