Guest guest
Nope, I wasn’t surprised at all, but was surprised he didn’t go before Bucky! I liked Ace in the beginning too. I think with training he might be able to make something of a career out of singing, but his voice is too raw and unstable right now. I think his looks is what carried him this far. Most did a good job this week, except poor Kelli. She had a hard time with that song, and even tho she has country roots, I think she did a fantastic job with her Queen song. But, this weeks, she knew she “butchered” it. ha, ha,…it was funny when she was talking about her fake eyelashes. I have always thought less was more. She is one who doesn’t need a lot of make up to look good. Steve had a theory about who gets in the bottom 3. He said after all this is Hollywood! He thinks they place the good ones with the one who gets the lowest numbers for shock value. He sure gets livid if someone gets in there that is obviously a good singer. I don’t know if his theory is right, but it makes you wonder how some of them get there before other ones. Chris sang another softer song during Barry Manilo week, didn’t he? And he was still “safe”. He did a great job on the Rod number. Kat is pretty much my favorite, and has been from the beginning. I kind of flip back and forth between her and Paris. Its still hard for me to believe Paris is so good at her age. A natural by all means. Kat has a voice teacher for a mom, and so she has had lessons, and it shows with most of her performances. I didn’t think she was all that good this week though. It was the low notes I didn’t like. reminds me of a seasoned Vegas entertainer. He’s fun to watch, but I don’t think he has the “WOW” factor like, Paris, Kat, or Chris. Randy thinks it will be a guy who makes it, and I heard the predictions point to Chris. I like him, but I don’t like alternative rock. Too head bangy for me! IMHO………. I really liked him in the beginning and thought he would make it to the end. He had that strange, hypnotic look. I kept thinking he had a future as a dangerous cult leader. lol (line up for your kool-aid, you know?) Then he started changing his looks and his " ways " . He shouldn't have listened to the stylists on the show. Most of the contestants were amazing this week, weren't they??? Kellie isn't as good as she was before though. I really, really liked her in the beginning. She's lost some of her charm as far as I'm concerned. She started changing when she let them put those big fake eyelashes on her. Were you surprised that was in the bottom three? I think he was very, very good but his heavy metal fans apparently didn't like his softer performance and didn't vote for him as they normally do. I don't have a favorite at this point. I think is fantastic. I loved his rendition of " Walk the Line " . My son-in-law heard it on the radio the next day! I really like and . I thought Paris is very good too. What do all of you AI fans think???? Sharon Sharon (MSersLife creator/owner) “One minute it's a giant cabbage and the next, ka-boom! Guest guest
Hi Val,…….it will be very interesting to hear what they all come up with this week doing “love songs” from Boccelli. Opera, I wonder how will make it his? I really like Boccelli. His style of music will really stretch all of them. That’s funny how you visualize Kat doing an animated movie, that’s how I picture Elliot! I was a little surprised that Ace got booted off this week though. I thought for sure it would be . She really needs to stick to country. I think that's her niche. I really liked what did. He showed that he can sing another style besides the hard rock. And he has the voice for it. Kat, too was great. She really has a pretty voice. Although, every time I hear her sing, I visualize her singing in one of those animated movies. Elliot showed that he can croon. He did well also. Nice voice. I'm anxious to see who will be on the chopping block next week. I'll be biting the bit until then. Blessings....Val -------Original Message------- Blab-away for as little as 1¢/min. Guest guest
Hi Donna,……I like country too, and Kelli has been pretty good for the most part. I think she was fantastic with her Queen song, but this weeks song was wrong for her. She didn’t connect to it, and it came thru that she didn’t. Every time she sings and they show her grandpa, I cry, because he looks so proud. I wonder if her father gets to watch her? My son is a singer too, and every time he sings I cry. When Kelli is in her element, she is great. But, with American Idol, the contestants need to perform outside their comfort area. Some do good and some don't. There are professionals out there in the music world who don't always put out songs that I like or that are chart toppers. But, that doesn't mean they are not great performers. When the kids had to do the country show, Bucky and Kelli sparkled. My youngest son and I were looking forward to hearing Walk the Line from Chris. It was nowhere near as good as ny Cash's version. I don't remember the rock group who had recorded a version of Walk the Line, but Chris's rendition was closer to their version I'm sure. It didn't surprise me that Ace left. In fact, I felt he should have left instead of Bucky. I think all of the contestants will do well in the world of music no matter where they finish in American Idol. The really great stars will continue to follow their dreams.
