Guest guest
Hi and welcome. I am sorry that you did not get any responses the first time you posted. I have CRPS and fibromyalgia, as well as plantar fascitis in both feet. So I know what it's like to be in pain. My injury is a result of a cat bite believe it or not. This happened a year ago now at work. I am a vet tech so the cat was a patient that I was working with. I am NOT able to do active tech work anymore. I currently teach and that is difficult. But knowing that I will not be able to actively tech again really bugs me. I have a hard time with that, as well as, knowing that I will be in pain everyday. My Christmas wish actually was to have ONE day FREE of pain. OF course that didn't happen. I know how you feel. What has helped me per the advice of my psychologist, is to focus on things that I can do. Try to focus more on the positives in your life. Don't focus on what you can't do anymore, think about what you can and be grateful. On my really bad days, it's hard to not think about the pain, but I try. My psychologist taught me a relaxation technique which does help somewhat. It does take a while to master though and I'm still working on it. Instead of trying to avoid the pain, he has me acknowledge that it's there, then move on to something else. Thinking about my favorite place, or where I would like to be. Again it takes a lot to master this and he had me start very slow. The other thing I did was to write down a list of things that has helped me in the past relieve some of the pain (besides meds) such as taking a warm bath, using my paraffin wax, using my massager, etc. I have that list posted in my house so that when things are bad, I can see that and try to reduce the pain the best I can. I am still struggling to " accept " what is going on with me and the pain that I feel. To think back a year ago and not having pain at all, to now having pain every single day of my life is tough. It is for anyone. Hang in there. Remember to focus on the good things in life. It's always easier to say than to do , but it can be done. I am dealing right now with my weight That is my struggle. And again it's because I can't do the things I used to due to pain. But I am trying to focus on what I CAN do to help my situation. As always, this group is here for you. Don't give up because you didn't get a response to your first question. It might be because no one has pain due to that or they haven't read it yet. But trust me when I say this is a GREAT group of people. So when you have bad days, you are always welcome to come here to vent. Our pain may be caused by different things, but we all experience pain on a daily basis and completely understand what you are going through. Feel free to email me privately anytime. I would be more than happy to talk to you. Happy New Years! wrote: This is new for me. I sent out my first comment by asking if anyone out there suffered from chronic pain resulting from cervical bone fusions. Well, no response. As I think about it, I really don't need to know what anyone's pain is a result of.

Well, no response. - You most certainly did get responses - at least two within a few hours. If you're not seeing them, then check your spam filter. Often new members complain about not getting responses when their spam filter is at fault. Also, you can always read the messages right on our web page (at www.yahoogroups.com and see everything that is posted and goes out via email, so you can be sure you aren't missing them. When you pull up your message there, you'll see a thread of every response attached to it at the bottom of the message.
