Guest guest
My mom's a Hermit -- and my dad is perpetually caring for her and rescuing her. His loyalty is to her -- not to his children. I think their pairing was a good fit because my Hermit/Waif mom came from an alcoholic, raging household, and she met up with my dad, who was raised by a dictatorial dad and weak mom who had " given up " long ago. Dad had an older brother who was the favored child -- mom refers to him as " Golden Boy " , so my dad suffered the fate of the " Second " son. He gets to feel like a hero, and my mother gets to continue to be helpless. Her Hermit tendencies suit him because he doesn't like dealing with people much anyway. -Kyla > > After reading so many of these posts, I'm somewhat curious about the > the ratio of Hermit, Witch, Waif and Queen mothers everyone has. Guest guest
I think my mother is a Hermit/Witch, with Hermit being the primary persona. I actually thought that she was kidnapped and replaced by a witch at times when I was little and she would suddenly turn on us. Amazing how smart we are when we're children! My older sister, in contrast is predominantly a Witch with occasional Hermit thrown in for good measure. What's really amazing is how absolutely on target the authors descriptions of the husbands/SOs for each of the four types of BPD. My dad is totally a Huntsman/Fisherman combo. > > After reading so many of these posts, I'm somewhat curious about the > the ratio of Hermit, Witch, Waif and Queen mothers everyone has. Guest guest
Growing up my nada is the Queen /Witch While she can still be that she is also becoming a waif/hermit but that is from physical problems now etc. Never had to take care of her per say, never saw her cry growing up only heard her yell. > > > > After reading so many of these posts, I'm somewhat curious about the > > the ratio of Hermit, Witch, Waif and Queen mothers everyone has. Guest guest
Yes Sara Jo, if I remember correctly, almost all BPD's have some of all of the four types of behavior. But ususally they are predominantly a couple of types and three types wouldn't be unusual. BPd is also usually comorbid with other disorders like anxiety, depression, bipolar and other such things. Guest guest
My Nada is almost totally waif now that she is older and alone and I am LC with her. When I was young and dependent on her, she was witch. When I was in my twenties, and moved out, but not LC, she was combo waif/witch. Interesting how that worked. > > After reading so many of these posts, I'm somewhat curious about the > the ratio of Hermit, Witch, Waif and Queen mothers everyone has. Guest guest
Hello! Stepnada is a Queen/Witch. There is no disagreeing with her. No asserting one's own tastes, preferences, hopes, dreams unless they mirror hers. Otherwise, its the rolled eyes, crinkled lip, and " why would you want/do/like that? That's stupid/a waste of time/ridiculous, etc. " If I hold fast to whatever " defiant " view I have, then it is percieved as a personal F.U. to her and she either cries, rages, or goes on silent mode. She " couldn't " have children with my dad (she knew he had a vasectomy when she married him) and alternated between forcing us to call her mom, and tearing us apart for not being her biological kids. We were never good enough. Little sis is N/C and I am very L/C. > > After reading so many of these posts, I'm somewhat curious about the > the ratio of Hermit, Witch, Waif and Queen mothers everyone has. Guest guest
Mine's a Queen with Waif and Witch tendencies. When we were kids, the Witch tendencies would come out more. Now that she's been widowed, she uses the Waif card a lot more often. qwerty > > The Waif is a hopeless, helpless victim. Guest guest
Mine is a hermit/waif who goes witchy when her hermit-ness is threatened by a family member's desire to have friends. Oh, the joy! > > > > After reading so many of these posts, I'm somewhat curious about the > > the ratio of Hermit, Witch, Waif and Queen mothers everyone has. Guest guest
YES! It's so confusing. My nada can be such a " witch, " where she throws things, yells, and sometimes flies out to strike a person. She is intense, and will curse and fly off the handle one minute. The next minute, she turns into a frail little lady, literally hunching over with her hands folded infront of her. She looks so tiny (she is a small little person) and weak. She will talk about her trials in life, and often hides behind my brother's death (4.5 years ago), saying she is still grieving and therefore she can not _____ (fill in the blank). Really leaves you feeling frustrated, doesn't it? > > After reading so many of these posts, I'm somewhat curious about the > the ratio of Hermit, Witch, Waif and Queen mothers everyone has.
