Guest guest
Hi -- Yes I have a friend that is notorious for doing this. Problem is, she herself is pencil thin -- wears about a size 2 and is always on a diet -- this in spite of the fact that she entertains quite a lot and so is always cooking luscious desserts. People often ask her or her family how she can stay so thin. Her daughter says that she just keeps a running tabulation of calories of everything she eats during the day and simply stops eating when she reaches her max. This, however, doesn't stop her from serving platefulls of fattening goodies to everyone else. I find it almost insulting, although she's a nice person so don't want to put her down. Calorie counting is something I've always had success with (when I'm motivated enough to stay on a diet... All this reminds me of a muppet skit I saw on the Muppet Show, when it was still on tv. In it, Miss Piggy comes into a fast food restaurant and pleasantly orders lettuce and water. While she's waiting for it, a little skinny muppet with curly blond hair comes in and orders a triple decker cheese burger, large shake and a double order of fries. As she's giving her order, Miss Piggy gets angrier and angrier until finally she can't hold her hostility and punches the little muppet in the face... So do you ever feel like Miss Piggy?... Good luck on your diet. I need it on mine. I'm just not as motivated as I need to be. --le Friends ??? > Has anyone ever had a friend be sly and try to sabbotage you when you start > to do well? Guest guest
Hi , I too have the finger, and wrist problems. Very weak wrists. Since Petra is being diagnosed, I would wait for her results to come back. If she has a positive skin biopsy, they will only need to draw your blood (at least that is what my geneticist told me about the kids and other family members). Even though she goes to a childrens hospital, the geneticist will work with you, as that is where I had to go to see one in the Buffalo area. So in order for you to be diagnosed, you would probably see the same doctor as she does. Give Petra a kiss for me, the poor little sweetie. I know what it feels like to feel sick all the time, and the symptoms Petra has are the ones I experience the most, i.e. headaches, and stomach aches, and of course, severe fatigue. So hang in there, and know that I am thinking of you and Petra. Saying a prayer too. Love, Sue Ginley

Guest guest
As someone who has not had TOO many problems with weight, I feel a little guilty in that I may very well have done this very same thing to some of my friends (unknowingly). Unless your friend has some severe mental hangups, it could be she just isn't thinking. Eating has always been a social thing--and it could be that she just wants to share good food with a friend. When you are not dieting, you don't think (or understand) about other people's diets and how strict they must be--really! Please don't be so hard on her, just remind her you gotta watch what you eat. (I used to be able to eat whatever I wanted and weighed 115--but not now.) I sure do understand how angry it can make you to think someone is trying to sabotage your diet, though. It has happened to me, too, now that I have to watch my weight. B
