Guest guest
No, but I do get plaques/sayings/picture often that drive me crazy! Pretty things to hang on the walls like " I'll love you forever " , " reach for the stars " , and other sentimental garbage that makes her feel better after her episodes. They're actually very nice little trinkets if I believed they were given to me for the right reasons! Actually, now that I think about it, she bought me the whole " I Hope You Dance " book and CD! so, yes > > Just thought this would be a funny topic, has anyone else had > songs/lyrics sent to them when arguing with their BPD? Guest guest
During a recent confrontation with my parents, as I was herding them to the door after asking them to leave my house, my mom beseeched me to listen to a song by Amy Grant called " Heirlooms " . The lyrics go something like " Up in the attic/Down on my knees/Lifetimes of boxes/Timeless to me/Letters and photographs/Yellow with years/Some bringing laughter/Some bringing tears/Time never changes/The memories the faces/Of loved ones who gave to me..../My precious family/Is more than an heirloom to me " . Beyond the obvious irony of the words, the additional irony is that nada FORCED me to sing that song at weddings and in church. So I almost laughed in her face when she suggested I listen to that song, intending guilt, but in actuality reminding me why I was kicking them out of my hourse. > > > > Just thought this would be a funny topic, has anyone else had > > songs/lyrics sent to them when arguing with their BPD? Guest guest
This is hilarious, Nada hated these things when I was little, in the past 6 months she has sent me 3 things, First: You make my heart smile (very pretty ceramic thing you put on the wall) I try and pretend someone else bought it for me Second: I smile because your my daughter, I laugh because there is nothing you can do about it, a cute little pillow, I gave it to my cats, they love to lay on it Third: Honey, Put on your big girl panties and deal with it, a magnet, As I write it out, it seems she is getting angry that I refuse to reconnect and become a part of her, after 3 years of finally separating. Guest guest
I can't even tell you how many meaningless and tacky " Why Daughters are the Greatest! " and " Pictures of Mothers and Daughters on Picnics! " and " Mothers and Daughters do Tea! " books I get, usually signed very mushily. I got two this last Christmas and added them to a comical pile on my bookshelf at home, I have literally received dozens of such books since I was little, you think she might've noticed by now that I've never opened a single one. asmith3569 wrote: No, but I do get plaques/sayings/picture often that drive me crazy!
