Off Subject. But needing help.

For the past 6-8 months I have been having a big problem with eating.

Everything I eat tastes like metal,heavy salted, rotten and just plain

S####. That is with all foods and most beverages.

My doctor has switched my meds around a few times for the diffrent problems I

have. Conditions- heart desiese,arthroites and just found out last week I have

barrets esophigues with a hiatial hearnia in the top of my stomack.

My doc says the barrets is not causeing the taste problem and it could be the

diffrent meds I take. I am having a hard time finding out about whats causing

the taste problems. Could it be the meds I take

for the pain? Meds I take are Morphine 30mg, Plavix 75mg, Caduet 5/40,

Nexium, Metroprol, Renexa 500mg.

I am afraid to stop any of the meds because they do help me, especialy the pain

meds. All I know is I am loosing weight, from 220 9 months ago down to 158 now,

because I just can't eat. The taste of food makes me want to throw up every time

I eat.

Any help of ideas would be greatly accepted because I am lost and the

docs can't figure it out either.

Jim,

I have the same problem with taste. The only thing that doesn't taste

terrible is sweet stuff. The meds I take are Metoprolol tartrate 25mg. 2 times

a day, Omeprazole 20mg(Generic for like Nexium or Prilosec) once a day and

morphine sulfate 60 mg 2 times a day for total of 120 mg. I take other meds but

those are the ones I have in common with you.

Let me know if you find out what it is. I will tell my doc when I see her.

If she knows then I'll post it here.
