Guest guest
Hi , You answered your own question. The feelings don't come back overnight. It has still been a shock as they've come back, but it comes in waves and I've been able to cope with it. I believe the fish oil and calcium has been my rock. There haven't been any uncontrollable crying jags or rage. Just a little more sadness and joy. In my case, it turns out that all the out of control emotions which landed me on drugs were caused by a diet of sugar, white flour, soda, barely any protein and no vegetables. I love finding out that all of those things are within my control. Through making better choices I never have to be at the mercy of the doctors and drugs again. Hugs, Yahoo! Autos. I asked my doctor if i could have a blood test to see if i was allergic to certain foods... well... she just gave me this funny look and asked why? so i told her for depression...well her face was a laugh... she said no we dont do that... So i am wondering if there is another way i could find out about food allergies..>> ** Dear , didn't say she has food allergies. She indicated that the foods she chose did not serve her body well. These foods don't meet the nutritional requirements of anyone (see 's post below). How about posting a 4 day food diary and we'll help you identify what could be improved upon? Has anyone else eyer been through this? Donna, Yes, I have been through over ten years of that and I had inappropriate care for seven years. I would take a anti-inflammatory if you can and it can help with the swelling. The only thing you can do it go to the ER if you are in so much pain but you need to document what is happening with a pain diary and take it in to your doctor. This will also help with your insurance and your lawyer. Otherwise, anything you say is just recorded as the doctor says it. When you keep a pain diary, it documents the level of pain and what works and doesn't. Ask you doctor to make a copy and put it in your chart and you keep a copy for your files. I put my forms in a three ring binder and kept notes also. This way your lawyer can see them also. I also think you should ask for a discogram to document your injury if they just try to say it is a bulged disc. You will have to take care of your back and choose activities that will not inflame your condition. I cannot ride my husbands motorcycle, garden, walk, run, horse ride, or other activities. I changed my career to teaching from the medical field because I could not lift patients or patient care. Most of us have been through this and it causes a deep depression if you let it. It is like a death of a former self but you have to learn to seek different things. You will find very empathetic friends here and others that have been where you are. We all are in different stages of what you are experiencing but we all have to still advocate for ourselves when we do not feel well. So, don't be afraid to get on that phone and tell them, this is not working and if I don't get any relief, I will need to go to the ER. Good Luck and please let us know how you are doing. I am others will answer your post and give you other advice that will help. If you need anything that I can help, please do not hesitate to e-mail me. I have some pain diarys I will be happy to send to you as attachments or you can just do a search on Google or Yahoo and type in pain diary. Guest guest
Thanks Bennie,a pain diary is an excellent idea. I too,was working in the health field when my injury occured. By preventing my patient from falling,I ended up hurting myself. From the looks of it,as my employer has no work for me,I will be changing fields also. That is when my case is settled. Guest guest
My name is Kristi and I have been in chronic pain since a doctor screwed up a surgery almost two years ago. The pain in my ankle joint is gone now because my ankle joint was amputated on 10/07 and my foot was fused to my leg but I am still in pain. Not sure how to deal with it, at my age, it's scary to know that it will always be with me. Granted the pain is not as bad as it once was, but the leg where the fibula was amputated hurts. I use a fentanyl pain patch, and darvocet for breakthrough pain. It helps but I want to be on the lowest dose so I still have a lot of pain. Kristi Kristi M. I appreciate that you want to be on the lowest dose of pain medicine but if you still have a high pain level, it effects other organs and systems in your body over time. Do you have a pain management doctor ? Darvocet is a pretty low level pain pill. Do you have nueropathic pain in your ankle? I have heard that sometimes happens after amputations. I was just curious if you had taken something like Neurotin for the nueropathic pain or anything else. Well, I hope that you find some good information here that might help you and I hope you pain is less everyday. Bennie
