Guest guest
Hi , I don't know what we would do without pets. I know they help me so much. Your female dog is so silly! I think that it is cute how she acts after she gets groomed! <smile>. My animals do not like getting groomed at all. Maben, our kitten, will act as though he is being mauled and make such horrible sounds that almost make me want to cry even though all we might be doing is brushing his fur or clipping a knot out of it since he has long fur. Molly, our dog, has two foot long fur over most of her body. We have to groom her often because of not only the length, but because she also likes to roll around on her back both inside and outside. I trim her fur as best I can too. Not only does it take a really long time so she doesn't look choppy, but I'm allergic to animal fur and I end up getting hives and rashes and what not. So, I have to take breaks. We are going to get both our dogs shaved for the summer though. Mickey, our puppy, has long-ish fur. It's about 4 inches long and almost all black. Both of them boiled last summer to the point they just did not want to go outside during the day unless I was taking them somewhere. And if they did go outside during the day, they would do their business under the deck where it is shady and then come right back inside. I don't blame them since it gets to 110 degrees and higher here over the summer. Anyway! I'm babbling! lol! I hope your little chihuahua stays warm! It's cold and snowy here too! Guest guest
Hi We love all of our animals so much and don't know what we would do without them. We have 4 dogs, 2 cats, 2 gerbils and a bearded dragon. Yup, a mini zoo! But being a vet tech, that is what happens. My husband didn't realize what he was getting himself into :-) Thank goodness he is an animal lover as well or we would have problems. A few years ago we went to Florida. I had people come and stay at our house to watch our animals. I cried the morning I left since I didn't want to leave my dogs. I would call and when my mom was here, she would put the phone up to their ears so I could " talk " to them. Silly hey? We also had a time when we sold our house in the city we used to live in and stayed at my FIL house (they were in Florida at the time). They allowed us to stay there but the rule was that we not bring any of the animals there. We had to respect it since it's their house and all but I was so sad. We fostered out the dogs to different family members and friends so we were able to see them but life was not the same without any animals in the house. We complain about them from time to time, yet if we leave on vacation we miss them. We are going on a cruise in May and my mom is coming to stay with the kids and the animals. She loves all my animals especially my boy. He was my first dog and is a Shepherd mix. He is definitely my dog and attached to my hip. But he is getting attached to grandma too. Before she gets here we'll say to him " grandma's coming! where's grandma? " and he goes crazy cuz he wants to see her. IT's so cute. My female (Maebel) also likes to roll around. Especially after being groomed. I should video tape her one of these days after she gets groomed. She does strut her stuff. It's the funniest thing I've ever seen. We just got about 11 inches of snow, so my poor Chihuahua does NOT like to do outside. We usually shovel part of our back yard for him so he doesn't disappear in the snow since he's so little! :-) Thanks for sharing about your pets. I love all animals (ok well most, not thrilled with snakes) and my life would not be the same without them. It's almost funny because my last IME report stated that there was survellience video on me. They put in there that they saw me outside petting one of my dogs with my right hand (where I have RSD). WOW, that's something that I am not supposed to do? Ridiculous.
Guest guest
Hi , You have a mini zoo! ha ha! I would have a mini zoo, but my hubby always talks " sense " into me when I almost get another animal. He is an animal lover too, thank goodness. I used to have three mice. They were Fancy Mice, which is a breed of mice that loves humans and loves to cuddle. We got a male and a female as babies at first because the male was rejected by his other male mice friends and the female was solid brown and just curled in a ball in my hand and fell asleep! I had done research and found that mice are picky and will not always mate. Well, mine did! I noticed the female getting fat and then bumpy. I did more research and found that she was pregnant. She had a litter of baby mice! They looked like pink beans when they were born because they were hairless! But, when they grew their fur and opened their eyes, they were so very cute! They were teeny tiny and jumped lol. We kept one from the litter. The baby loved to roll around in a hamster ball and do backflips! It was the funniest thing we had ever seen. He would purposefully get the ball stuck somewhere just so he could do backflips! We let all of them roll around in hamster balls and they each had their own cages which we called their rooms lol. Especially when I went to clean the female's mouse cage and discovered another litter! I had no idea that mice can mate while pregnant and hold on to the stuff until the female's body is ready to be pregnant again! We gave away that litter, even though I wanted to keep just one. They have all since passed now. I miss them a lot. I cried so much when each of them passed on. People think I'm silly for doing so. They even knew their names and would come out of hiding in their cages when I called their names. Or they would sometimes come to me when they were in the hamster balls and I called their names lol. I almost became a vet tech, but I would end up with even more animals too. That stinks you had to have others watch your furry babies. Don't worry, when we are away from home for a while, we will also call home and talk to our animals either through the answering machine or when someone is at our house. We will have them put the phone to the animal's ears so we can talk. When my hubby was deployed, I would sometimes put the phone to the animals' ears or put the phone on speaker. The animals would go nuts and look for him lol! That is funny how your Boy reacts when you say Grandma's coming LOL! My dogs act just as silly when I ask if they want to go bye bye. lol. We have our dog, Molly, on video barking at the weed eater and lawn mower from last spring and summer. She stopped doing it after a while, but we were lucky enough to catch it on camera! That's funny your chihuahua would get lost in the snow because it is so deep right now! That's cute. What is the IME and why were they putting you under survellance? That is ridiculous! Guest guest
The IME is the independent medical exam. My injury was sustained while I was at work. I was bit by a cat pretty bad which led me to where I am now, with CRPS. Anyhow the worker's comp hires a doctor to do an exam and get his opinion. Since I was on worker's comp for almost a year, the insurance company did survellience video on me. They taped me here at my house and also followed me to the gas station and the grocery store. One of the things that they saw was me petting my dog with my right hand (as if that is a bad thing). They also reported me holding a paper product of some sort in my right hand. Whoopie! Yes my Chihuahua will get lost in the snow right now. We just got blasted with snow yesterday (was a snow day for me and my daughter,no school) and are supposed to get some more today. The joys of living in the Midwest. Anyhow, he hates it outside. For my other Chihuahua we had bought him some boots. He hated them and any clothes that we would try to put on him. He wouldn't move when we put it on. Once we put him to sleep, we sold the boots and most of the clothes except for the Harley son sweatshirt that we had. So when we got our new Chihuahua. We put the sweatshirt on him and he loves it. So different from our other chi. Yes my LOVES grandma. She will literally sit here and massage him. He is in heaven!!!! So when she comes so my husband and I can go on our cruise, he'll be happy since grandma will be here with him for an entire week! My daughter has a 2 hour delay for school today. I never quite understand that, but here we sit. So will be leaving shortly to get her to school. Enjoy your day.
Guest guest
We have a Cairn Terrier (Phil) that is such a little clown. He does high-fives and lifts his paw up to shake whenever he wants something. He wakes my daughter up every morning for school by jumping on her bed and licking her face, we call it his " job " . He puts her to bed everynight too. When she gets upset, he gets very upset and will wail right along with her and sometimes even gets her to laugh while she is crying. What I love about this dog is that he is a family dog. We have a border collie that loves my husband most but the Terrier loves everyone in the family the same and he loves to have company over too (as long as its not another dog!). People think we are wierd because we call our pets part of our immediate family and treat them as such. I think Phil totally completed our family and we needed him to make us laugh and smile more. My cairn terrier (I call them terrors) will come and lie on his side and scoot up next to me so we are back to back and I feel his warmth. I also notice if I hold him and he falls asleep he will change his breathing pattern to mine. I can intentionally sigh and he will do the same. They definitely are in tune with how we feel. I think they are our angels on earth. Bennie
Guest guest
Hi , That is so cute about your chihuahua curled up in your son's carseat! My older cat used to do that when my neice and nephews were babies and I would watch them while my sisters were at work. Your other dog sounds so silly in the snow! My dog, Molly loves the snow. So, does Mickey, my other dog. But, Molly just loves to roll in it, burrow in it, etc. When we were moving to Alaska in the middle of winter, we were driving through part of the Yukon Territory. We stopped at a little restaraunt to get something to eat. My husband took Molly on her leash to let her do her business. Well, there was what looked like a large flat area, so he was taking her there. As Molly walked quickly over to that area to go, she fell right through the snow! It was so very funny! Come to find out there was a ditch there! It did not scare her, in fact it made her hyper! After she climbed out of that, she kept going back into the snow filled ditch and burrowing! She absolutely loved Alaska, as did we as well! Love, Becky in SD wrote: My Chihuahua/Fox terrier mix on the other hand LOVES it! He runs around in the snow like a deer. It's so funny to watch him as he's running and leaping in the air.
