They are very similar, Glucomannan is a supplement with no side effects, Welchol is a drug, costs more and has some side effects... It is also made with ASPARTAME, something I would never use... Side Effects: http://www.drugs.com/sfx/welchol-side-effects.html Aspartame: >>>Welchol for Oral Suspension is a citrus-flavored, white to pale yellow powder containing yellow granules packaged in single-dose packets containing either 1.875 gram or 3.75 gram colesevelam hydrochloride. In addition, each packet contains the following inactive ingredients: lemon flavor, orange flavor, propylene glycol alginate, simethicone, aspartame, citric acid, medium chain triglycerides, and magnesium trisilicate.<<<< Aspartame is, by Far, the Most Dangerous Substance on the Market that is Added To Foods http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2011/11/06/aspartame-most-dangerous-substance-added-to-food.aspx MARIE: You should familiarize yourself with the dangers of Aspartame, this is something I would never use... He has a lot of neurological Lyme symptoms...memory issues, major anxiety, brain fog, loses his thought mid sentence, confusion, etc in addition to physical symptoms. In the past he has been on doxy, ceftin and Bactrim (for a coinfection). We have an appointment with an infectious disease dr in September and from speaking with them it seems that they will put him on IV antibiotics. I am concerned because since November, everything is just getting worse....not better at all. I know that we need to take it slow and steady but I would think he should not be getting worse.... I'm concerned because of the neuro symptoms he has and I'm thinking (or more like hoping) that a round of IV antibiotics might help temporarily however the common sense voice in my head is telling me that it will make things worse. Can anyone offer any advice? He is currently using the gb4000 once a week, taking charcoal, Isocort> and adrenal support(he has adrenal fatigue). We have limited finances now that he is no longer working so I'm trying to figure out the best next step... Thanks in advance! Barb>
Guest guest
HI Jim , Thank you I know and it is me who told you choletyramine had aspartam in it I read the ingredient and was very much surprised. Welchol being in a form of a pill they did not need to put aspartam because they add the aspartam as a sweetener for diabetics. poor one .
