Peace & Blessings,~*~Akiba~*~Pragmatic Visionaryhttp://yodamamma.blogspot.com/www.solay-twinflames.com haven't been around Hi...this is just a little update on me if anyone cares...I was in a psych hosp. from 4/28 til 5/11 as I felt suicidal and extremely depressed...hard to say if it was linked to MS, but I would say in some ways it was. They changed my anti-depressant from zoloft to effexor and I am finally feeling better and more grounded. My 5 kids and husband struggled with my being away. The other day I went to a urologist, a really nice female one, as I've been...I hope no one minds me saying this...anorgasmic for about a year, most likely MS related, and also having urinary issues as well. She discovered that I have some sort of I think she called spastic bladder or urethra. I gave a urine sample for a culture, and during the exam, she didn't tell me she was going to do this, she put a catheter in me, and all this urine came out, so I have a problem onot emptying. She wants me to come back and do biofeedback to retrain the muscle--has anyone ever done this?I'd like to hear back if anyone has and what it was like and if it was successful...well, that's my story....i hope i haven't bothered or bored anyone. blessings on all, kate No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG Free Edition.Version: 7.1.394 / Virus Database: 268.7.2/349 - Release Date: 5/26/2006
Guest guest
Of course we care! And please do keep us updated on the whole bladder-urethra thing--it is my understanding that this is very common with MS. Keep up the good work, and let us hope that the new medication does work! Guest guest
Dear Kate: ((((I'm sending you big, warm hugs))))). I have been thinking about you and wondered how you were doing. I'm glad to hear you are feeling better as far as the depression goes. And it sounds like you found a good urologist, too. That's great news. I'm sure it feels better to know there is some progress in the treatment of your symptoms. How's the Trigeminal Neuralgia doing? I'm sure it was hard on all of you. Is self cathing something you might start doing? I know I've read others on this list talk of it. Of course no one minds you saying any of that. It's part of MS and MS isn't fluffy bunnies and roses. <g> I genuinely am glad you DID say it! Guest guest
Kate Hey...I started to have to cath myself 3 or more times a day a few months ago. It's really easy once you get the hang of it and can help you avoid kidney damage from your bladder not emptying. I did the urodynamics and my bladder was normal, the wires to it are just crossed. LOL If you have any questions be happy to help. Guest guest
Kate, I have had electrical stimulation to retrain my bladder. Not emptying properly is common among MSers. It did help me. I still have occasional problems but not like before.
