Guest guest
To whom it may concern. My name is Danny M Griffth. I live Bellefontaine Ohio. I have 3 boys (callob, Cody, Corey ) I also have one daughter Caitlyn. My wife of 14 years is Beth A Griffith. I am 34 and she is 30. I have three kids with disabilitys. But here is my question maybe someone can answer for me. I have had really bad diabetes for years. Well three years ago or so I was supposedly diagnosed with ms also. At that time I was treated for it in an aggresive way. Well that doctor of mine sorda disappeared. Well now my eye specialist just did a eye exam due to my complaing. Well in six months my eyes have gone to blind in right and 29/100 in the left. He said if a miracle doesnt happen soon i will be pemanetly blind in six months. Not good. But his theory is it is not the diabetes doing it it is for sure the ms. He said we need to find a good ms doctor fast and now. There is no time to wait. He says if there is a time to worry it is now and present!. Does anyone out there a similar problem or know of someone to communicate and have support from. I would greatly appreciate andy responses to this. Thank you and God bless.
Guest guest
Hi Danny my name is Bill and I live in Indiana with my wife Judy and we have 2 boy's. I have both Type 1 diabetes and MS. My Diabetes came first in April of 93 and then my MS in Aug of 99. I am still 44 and I am also on disability because of my MS. I went to an eye specialist in 2000 because I was having a lot of eye trouble at that time and my eye trouble at that time ended up being my diabetes causing my trouble. I think I drove my doc crazy bdcause I saw her several time during that period and I would always ask her if my MS is causing my eye trouble. She did assure me that she has often helped diagnose a patient with MS from the exame she gave that person. The trouble I had with my eye she was able to help by doing some lazer surgery on my eye. I was surprise at how easy that procedure was and also how well it worked. It wasn't 100% but it greatly improved my vision. I have a lot of trouble with my feet and I can never tell if the MS is the cause or the diabetes. I figure maybe both. If I ask the doctor all he can do is wonder also. Last summer I had double vision and I went to see my eye spacialist and I was told my vision was fine but I would have to have my Neurologist do his thing for my double vision. He had me go through 2 different steroid treatments. The first treatment didn't help so he had me do the second. I am not sure the second worked because it took many months for my eyes to get better. I often wonder if they went back to normal be them selves. What ever happened my eyes are normal again. I am sure the MS caused my double vision. I have a lot of trouble with really warm weather and I was mowing my yard one day and noticed my eye trouble starting the next day. I have had trouble like that in the past and it always cleared up in a day or so but not last summer. I wish I had a good answer for you but with both these diseases it is hard to know which is the problem. Bill beth42676 wrote: To whom it may concern. My name is Danny M Griffth. Guest guest
Hi Danny: Welcome to the group. I'm glad you found us. You said "three years ago or so I was supposedly diagnosed with ms also". Since you said "supposedly" I'm wondering if you, or someone else, doubts that diagnosis was correct? What were your symptoms at the time you were diagnosed with MS? What kind of treatment did they give you? It sounds like you need a good neurologist fast. Have you tried to find a neurologist in you area? It's so hard to pick a good one. Does your eye specialist have a recommendation for you? What about your primary care? I do hope you can find a neurologist quickly and hopefully you can save your eyesight. What other MS symptoms are you having now? Sharonbeth42676 wrote: To whom it may concern. My name is Danny M Griffth. I live Bellefontaine Ohio. Guest guest
Optic Neuritis is very common in people with MS. I have a friend who is going blind because of her MS. Maybe yours is because of ON and maybe not. I do not know if there is anything more you can do. See if you can find a website for Dr. Huang here in Calgary. He is the one who diagnosed my friend with MS. He is an opthamologist. If there is no website , I will look for more info for you. Barbg ifewith wrote: Hi Dan, I'm sorry to hear of all that.
