Guest guest
Hi Deanna, Wow, another one of those 'my childhood *was* strange' moments. I guess I had never thought before that maybe parents would want to play with their children. My mother did when I was very young, but never after that. Mostly I was left on my own. As a follow-up to another thread, my mother and I would pretend we were cats. is ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Never miss a thing. Guest guest
Me too. I have no memory of my mother playing with me as a kid. I remember wandering the house being intensely painfully bored and telling her so and just getting the usual non-response. She also never helped me with my homework. I was shocked to find out that was a thing parents normally did with their children. School was my business alone as long as the grades were okay and she never asked to see those even. I developed this sick overachieving aspect early to try to make the most impressive grades possible so she would at least have some reaction. Instead perfection just became what she expected of me - the reward was going to a restaurant she wanted to go to usually. julie > > Hi Deanna, > > Wow, another one of those 'my childhood *was* strange' > moments.
