Guest guest
An Ostectomy is the excision or partial removal of a bone. An Osteotomy is when a bone gets cut to shorten it or realign it. Sounds a lot like six of one or half a dozen of the other. :-) -- Lyndi Kaylene wrote: > Hi Carl > Do you mean an Osteotomy? Guest guest
I have already had the removal of my tib-fib head two years ago(Partial) this procedure is going to be a complete removal of the Bone from Top to about 2and a Half inches above the ankle and then Fastened to the main bone for support. I know the way I explain things might not be (Politically)or (Medically) correct however you don't need to talk or type down at myself\or anyone elose because it isn't explained the perfect way. I am just asking for some info regarding this type of procedure. Thank You CR ----- Original Message ---- Lyndi wrote: >An Ostectomy is the excision or partial removal of a bone. Hi Carl I wasn't trying to be critical, just precise so I could find the right link for you. I have heard of the procedure, but that's about it. Maybe, someone in the group can give you their personal experience with it. I haven't practiced as an RN, for 7 years, so I am out of the loop with many new things, so I have to look them up. It sounds like a painful procedure, I hope all goes well for you. Kaylene Moderator ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ You rock. He kept sawing partial back to keep the rubbing, several times he did this (4-5), then went in and took 4-5 inches out completely of the ulnar leaving me with no ball joint, Nothing in between, left the two to still grind together just at another level further up, thus damaging tissue, nerves, and anything else in between, (never understood why he did that to me)? Another physician all together, ended up having to go back in and brace it and replace it, so I guess I had both? Decrepitus is what I believe it was that I had from bartending 13 years of that motion of my hand, the last 6 of those years I was going to college for nursing, not knowing it was a life-long disability what he had done to me. Any thoughts? or kaylene? I know you both are knowledgeable in these matters? Thank you. Janet
