Hello " pioklahoma " - Welcome to the group, although I'm sorry for the pain that brought you to us. What do you want to be called here? It helps to sign a name or nickname so people know who they " talking " to. > I have heard of a pain killer that is like a lollipop and can releive > pain almost immediately and you can control the dosage, thus taking > lless medication. > You're referring to the Actiq lollipop. Actiq is a brand name. The opoid in it is Fentanyl, which is the same medication as in the Duragesic pain patch. It is very strong medication and used only for breakthrough pain. Since it works as a short-action medication, it is not a good option for managing chronic pain on a daily basis. You can learn more simply by googling " actiq " or " fentanyl lollipop. " Wikipedia is also a very good source for information on these types of things. What do you mean by " Staton? " I've never heard that word in regards to chronic pain, and I couldn't find anything in google about it. Perhaps this is a misspelling? Give us some more information about what it is you are trying to find out about so we can answer you. Cheryl in AZ Moderator
Guest guest
I have heard of a pain killer that is like a lollipop and can releive > pain almost immediately and you can control the dosage, thus taking > lless medication. Hi Cheryl, The pain Lollipop you are talking about is called Actiq. It comes in strenghts of 1600MG and 800mg I think it comes in lower doese too. They work fast. They help me out quite well. I take 4 a day of the 1600mg along with my other meds. The Lillipop is wrapped up and you need like a knife to open it. It has Fentanyl in it, so be real careful with it and follow their insructions. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Doug

I have no idea where you can get it or how it exactly works though. Nor am I familiar with a staton. What is that? Love, Becky/SD pioklahoma wrote: I am new and in severe pain due to a broken L5.
