Guest guest
hello Dear group,Haven't posted since 's death, but have beenreading. Thought it was time to write. I can't beginto express our appreciation of your prayers and giftsthroughout this ordeal. It has been unbelievable. Yourencouragement and uplifting messages, just wonderful. You are really like a part of the family.First, let me say that was very ready to passon, he had had enough. Thankfully we didn't have tohold anything back, once he got the "ok", I think hejust set his mind to it and gave in when the timecame. His passing was very peaceful and he was ready. For all of you who have had successful transplants,it's so wonderful and I pray for your continuedsuccess. For those of you waiting, I hope you neverlet what happened to bring you down about yourpossible future. His wasn't the way it was supposed tobe, God just has a different plan for everyone. Wemiss him greatly and are just now kind of settlinginto the realization that he's gone from us and isn'tcoming back through the door. It's tough and I'm notsure how we're supposed to feel, just taking it as itcomes. I just pray for those of you waiting that bythe time your transplant nears, new techniques andmedicines will help it all be easier. It is a nastylittle disease that I certainly wish I'd never heardof. Just remember especially for all you new peoplethat many go through this process and come out fine. Our dr. had said that people with PSC have the highestsuccess rates of all liver transplants. So, I'll still be reading, adding my two-centswhenever, but will never forget each of you and yourlove and kindness you showed to and our family. It's very amazing. Lean on each other and try not tolet the silly things get you going. You'll forever bein my prayers.Love,Ruth__________________________________________________
Guest guest
Debbie, I wasn't trying to minimize what you are going through by talking about going cold turkey. However, it was doctors who did that and it is a doctor who is telling you that you are not ready. I don't want to blast all doctors, but I think we are the better judges most often in terms of what we are ready for. I believe there are files on juicing, but essentially what I do is buy all sorts of organic vegetables, stick 'em through me juicer, and flood my body with the nutrients that are essential to healing. As I stated, I noticed a huge difference after I started. Google something like benefits of juicing and that will give you plenty to read. The main thing is to give your body and brain what it needs to heal. THink of it as arming it with the proper weapons to battle the drugs. As for eating, my #1 rule is to avoid processed food. I have been on and off all sorts of drugs and I can state from experience that the one universal truth I know to be true is going off them too fast causes nothing but anguish and suffering. Guest guest
Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Carolyn, I am 38 married to a wonderful supportive husband, we have 2 great children who have had to grow up quick due to all of my health issues. I am very lucky to have very supportive family and friends. I find my stregenth through my faith and my family and friends. I have just had my 16th major surgery and I have also had several minor ones. I have several other health issues, an adrenal deffincey, adison disease, degeneritive bone disease in my back, hips and feet. I have something going on neurologicly that the doctors cant seem to figure out, several eeg's have came back abnormal along with 2 mri's. So that means more testing f course. With my last surgery which was less then 4 months from my last major same area, can not get the incision to heal, have to have it packed and flushed out twice a day. This alone is very uncomfortable. I have nerve damage several places due to having them cut open so many times. There is not a day goes by that I don't have pain. I hope to find others to understand me and that I understand what you are going through. No one knows what it is like to hurt everyday and night unless you have been there done that. I have been on so many pain killers that they do not work much for me anymore, Even the fentanyl patches with other pain killers. Guest guest
Hi Carolyn Oh boy you have had so much to go through. You are so lucky to have a supportive husband and children. Do not worry about them growing up quickly. My daughter is nearly 21 and she did much the same, had to grow up quickly etc. However she does not resent it and she is such a kind hearted supportive child. So do not worry there. I wish I could help you in some way, but I can't. I know when I read posts like yours I feel like a fraud, as I have extensive nerve damage but that is it. Nothing like what you are going through. Hopefully others on this list will be able to help you as well. Unfortunately with pain medications, we all build up a tolerance to them. I know when I was sent to hospital last week when my pain just went sky high, they put an IV in and gave me 45 mls of Morphine and 10 mg Methadone and did not understand why I was still walking and talking normally. It is because I am tolerant to the drugs. However it did send me to sleep so I managed to sleep through the worst of it eventually. I hope this list is helpful to you, I know it has pulled me through a very rough patch recently. I think its a bit quiet due to Easter, but after that it gets busier. Guest guest
Good morning , Welcome to the group. The eye pain you are describing seems to be the same as mine. I get the serious nerve pain in the back of my eye. My doctor says they are ocular migraines. I know them as cluster headaches. Mine last from fifteen minutes to one and a half hours. And I can't even think of laying down on my back, they would just get worse, I usually have to sit up and wait until it passes. When the ocular headaches last over twenty minutes I'll take a migraine medication to kill it quickly. I'm glad you found this group, again welcome. /New York /New York --------------------------------- You rock. That's why Blockbuster's offering you one month of Blockbuster Total Access, No Cost.
