Guest guest
, I began Lyrica three months ago. To me its like Neuroton and the drug inserts states it is neuropathic like Neuroton to help people with fibromylgia, nerve pain. Most of us with pain conditions also have neurological symptoms as there is injury to nerves also. The effect for me is almost as the anti-inflammatories help my nerves settle down such as pain responses. Even though it is not presented as an analgesic, my pain decreases within 45 minutes of taking the medication. I have increased my 75 mg dose to three times a day and I started out with two at night to offset the drowsiness. The drug insert says it can be increased also and I think someone on this site is taking a pretty large dose and helping him. Usually, the regime is increase the dose to decrease your pain without too bad of side effects. I have gained ten pounds and a couple of times I have had swelling in my hands and feet which is listed as side effects. I have taken topomax, nueroton and now Lyrica. Lyrica does not bother my cognitive abilities although I do experience drowsiness sometimes. I feel the main thing it does is block pain impulses. That is just my perspective on how my body feels. These perspectives are mine and others might be different. If I were you, I would give it a try and see how it does. Bennie
