Guest guest
Watching it right now.....hope my nadas watching too, and sees that I was/am the model child/adult. Geesh, maybe I should have yelled and stomped my feet......might have gotten her attention then??? Sad story so far, even though Mrs. Dr. Phil was pouring it on kind of thick!!! " I never raised my voice to my boys " . So if they ran out in front of a car, she whispered " watch out " . Please, give me a break Robin McGraw!!! I can't wait for my boys to get home to hug!!! drlingirl > > Holy Cow! If that wasn't a BPD mom, I don't know what is. The kid > just wanted to come home to NO Yelling! Guest guest
Ahaha I came on here to say something about it! Yes that was my mom!!! OMG,, Well doc phil doesnt seem to me to give things a name on tv,, but he did tell the woman it wasnt normal behavior and she needed help whether it is chemical, psychological etc. So while he didnt name it he does acknowledge it. Wonder if he doesnt want to get sued or something and that is why he leaves out diagnosis? Im sorry to say I have been guilty of similar psychotic episodes myself when pushed too far, I havent for several years, seems I do it only when in a relationship and would be right before I had my period,, So hormonal? along with learned behavior from my nada. But I also new something was wrong with me. And went to therapy because I knew it wasnt normal. Im seeing myself in this young kid. He has feelings and doesnt want to act like he is he is frustrated , hurt, scared. I so dont want to be my nada, Otheres have this problem? Im glad I never had kids. Im afraid I would have been triggered and dont want to be.. Makes me want to cry watching this. > > Holy Cow! If that wasn't a BPD mom, I don't know what is. Guest guest
HAH!! Reading this post inspired me to send an email to Dr. Phil on his website. i doubt he will ever see it, but i thought i would give it a shot anyway, on behalf of us KO's! Here is what I wrote: Dear Dr. Phil, I don't know how many of these online emails you actually recieve, but I thought I would give it a shot anyway. I was wondering if you acknowledge Borderline Personality Disorder in your profession. You see, there is a whole online community of adult children of parents that suffer from BPD or severe traits of it. Some of us watch your show, and often time see a mother who appears to have BPD traits and is having problems with their children, but for lack of a better phrase, you always seem to take up for the mother who might have the problem instead of the child. We are all born and raised with the values that we should respect and honor our parents. There are some of us that have done this, but to no avail because our parents have this terrible disorder. I appreciate any answers or insight to this. Thank you, Sara Jo > > Holy Cow! If that wasn't a BPD mom, I don't know what is. The kid > just wanted to come home to NO Yelling! Guest guest
I'm sure he under some kind of gag order on diagnosing people on TV. I could only imagine the repercussions of what he could come under if he openly suggest BPD on one of his 28 minute cures. I know my nada would sue his ass off if he sugested this to her, especially on TV!!! Thats just my opinion.......drlingirl > > > > Holy Cow! If that wasn't a BPD mom, I don't know what is. Guest guest
I agree maybe he tells peeps ahead of time he wont say those kind of things. If you were on there would you want him to tell you ?? Most people might flip out. But he did tell her she had something seriously wrong with her. That is next best thing.. And she will be going to a clinic for diagnosis and treatment with her family > > > > > > Holy Cow! If that wasn't a BPD mom, I don't know what is. Guest guest
FYI Dr. Phil is all show he is not what he apears to be. If he were really truly a reputable doctor he would be treating private patients instead of hosting a TV show. I am also in the loop on some private matters in his life. He is abusive towards his animals. Thats all I can say. Tina > > > > > > > > Holy Cow! If that wasn't a BPD mom, I don't know what is. The > > > kid > > > > just wanted to come home to NO Yelling!
