Guest guest
Diane, I'm curious as to how well your son will manage with no balance nerves at all. That seems extreme to me, even to save hearing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but M., wasn't Helen in her wheelchair because of her balance, not because of muscle problems? I thought you had told me that once long ago. I am thankful for your encouraging HEI report. Even with the bad reports and bad outcomes we have heard about, they're high on my list of places to consider for future surgery for my family members. You are right. We do hear lots and lots about the bad outcomes and not much sometimes about the good ones. I suspect that's an attempt to minimize the trauma of surgery. (I'm convinced that most of our Crewbies have dazzling lycra uniforms with a " C " for courage hidden in their closet somewhere.) If surgery goes well, the attitude is almost, " Oh, yeah, I did have an AN surgery year this didn't I? " If it goes badly, we hear the details so we can do what is possible to avoid the same bad outcome. There apparently aren't any wimps with NF2. If I were the patient you would hear whining whether the outcome was good or not. Ouch! Ouch! It Hurts! I want my Mommyyyyyyyy! ...Donna -With Great Respect for the Brave Souls on this list!!!
