Guest guest
Wow. That is a doozey. My suggestion is to talk to a DBT therapist...(dialectical behavior therapy.) As you may already know, DBT is the treatment of choice for BPDs. It's like a catch 22. Borderlines need DBT because it teaches them to control their irrational fears and behaviors which in turn helps them to deal with people in the present. But on the flip side, there is some really serious post traumatic stress that your mother must be dealing with that definitely needs to be addressed as well, but as we all know, Borderlines don't do very well with working through things and letting go. You can try the Borderline Personality Resource Center in West Chester, NY. They are a division of the University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell. Perhaps someone can give you guidance there. Best of luck. **************Start the year off right. Guest guest
Hi there, My therapist does EMDR and I think it is amazing. If you have done it, I would recommend mentioning it in one of your e-mails. I don't know your Mom, but mine would automatically look up the acronym or ask me for more details. This way you could tell her about something you think may be of help, without telling her that is what she needs to do? I always find the backlash to be to bad to recommend something, but simply mentioning something I have done or heard about, usually doesn't cause me any harm. Hope that helps.
