Hi Derrick.

The link you provided doesn't want to open at the moment, but, as far as

drugs like Plendil go (calcium channel blockers, also include nifedipine

[Adalat], amlodipine [Norvasc] and others), it was reported a good 5 or 6

years ago that grapefruit juice causes the concentration of the drug in the

blood to be increased. Over here at least, the warnings are stuck right on

the prescription bottle now. As far as I know, it's only the juice and not

eating, say, half a grapefruit, but, personally, I wouldn't take any chances

if on any of the affected drugs (which I am - I take Plendil, which is

called Renedil over here).

Has anyone in the group seen the latest news on grapefruit?

Apparantly the word in the medical fraternity is if you are on

certain medications, ie Plendil or some of the Statins, you must not

eat grapefruit as it can enhance the effect. And you were worried

about celery juice Pierre!

Apparantly the word in the medical fraternity is if you are on

certain medications, ie Plendil or some of the Statins, you must not

eat grapefruit as it can enhance the effect. And you were worried

about celery juice Pierre!
