Guest guest
Hi , Yes, you've got it! Not thinking about sleep is the way to go. You are still so newly off drugs and making many other changes. It is normal for it to be erratic and for various symptoms to come and go. There is no possible way to control the whole package. This stage of recovery requires a certain amount of letting things ebb and flow. During much of withdrawal I slept from about 9 pm until 1 or 2 am. Then I got up and watched DVDs for a few hours. Sometimes I was able to sleep from 5 to 7 am, sometimes not. The goofy shows on DVD saved me. Sometimes I slept from 7:30 pm to midnight and was up the rest of the night, going to work the next day. This past Friday night I stayed up until 11 pm. I was a train wreck on Saturday. The whole jet-lagged thing. But last night I got to bed by 9 pm and I'm fine today. So you can see why I feel so strongly about respecting body rhythms. Such a seemingly "normal" thing like staying up until 11 pm totally threw me. We need a paradox of learning to listen to what our bodies need, while at the same time ignoring much of the fluctuation of withdrawal symptoms. __________________________________________________
