Venting...

Hi all; don't post very often, but just felt I needed some input,

advice, something. Until a few months ago, I was on methodone and

vicodan and my pain was well-controlled.

My significant other has pain management probs, and at the time, was not getting

relief with his meds. AFter a few hours of moan groan wince, I would end up

giving him my vicodan. Then, of course, I came up short.

Now I'm on only methodone and most days, it is not working. I can stand at the

sink for about 15 minutes, which means 3 sinks of hot water to do dishes. It is

so hard to take a shower, I am only taking maybe one a week.

To make things worse, my s.o. got started on morphine twice a day and maybe

because he feels guilty about the other, let me have a couple - right befor emy

pain doc started taking urines. So I've had 2 urines positive for morphine and

he is really looking for a confirmable reason to get ride of me.

Last night I was so miserable, I just lay on the floor and cried until I

couldn't breathe (I have COPD and yes, I still smoke). I do not know what to

do. When I go to the ER, they do nothing (which I didn't even think was legal,

given the new pain standards of the AMA).

I am at the point of considering a final solution. Please please let this post.

I need help so badly and don't know how to go about getting any.

The pain is alive, throbbing, every pulse beat worse; I can't eat without

vomiting, no position is ccomfortable. Oh well, enuf; you all have your own

probs which you are successfully coping with; I am so glad for you.
