Back in the day, Iwas making hawthorn berry tea, and just throwing in alike a teaspoon of berries. I gave myself heart palpitations. only time I every had them, before or since. Anyway, looke up reccommended doses, like a 1/4 teaspoon or something. Anyway, I believe we have to be careful of known poisonous and thorny herbs. others, when they have been known for being healing tonics or important herbs for cooking, can be dosed up until you see fit. There are exceptions, especially with those in ill health. cilantro, being a very strong detoxer witht the action of a dumper is an example. Yet healthy people with healthy immune and detoxing systems can chew it up like its going out of style. An opposite is stinging nettle which can be cooked and eaten like spinach. But, for severe arthritus the actual sting is indicated (tried it, not pleasant, but I dont have serious arthritus), so we see it is not poisonous. Actually I read there is a compitition in

England where crazy hillbilly farmers compete to see who can eat more, raw. Cameron.
