I am really surprised that your liver specialist isn't taking some action. Try to insist that he do something to give you some relief. It seems to me that the dark urine and yellow eyes would be a clear give-away that an ERCP is what he should be thinking about. It is so important for you right now to feel good and accomplish your work for student teaching. You mentioned you are in the southeast. I am sure the hot weather doesn't help the itching. Where are you from? Do you have a caregiver that can maybe also call the doctor to get you some relief? Sometimes us caregivers have more of a fight in us, only because we are feeling well and we can't stand to see our loved one suffering. Hang in there. My thoughts and prayers are with you today.
