Guest guest
Is it a bad sign, when I'm starting to hurt all the way up my fibula, from the ankle to the knee? In the past, I've had days where my pain felt like it was going " ping-pong " from one to the other, but recently it's been feeling like somebody has stuck a rod through the middle of my fibula. I'm still waiting for when my Army National Guard unit can get me to an Army hospital, and I'll be sure to tell the doctors there to check me out from the ankle to the knee. Going to my general health clinic, at the Indianapolis V.A. Medical Center, is out of the question, as I'm pretty much through with dealing with them. I was supposed to have another Physical Therapy new evaluation appointment, on Wednesday (March 5th), but I called the week before and canceled it. When asked if I want to reschedule, I said " no, I'm not going to waste my time or gas. " This weekend, I " go play Army, " so I'll try to ask my unit's flight surgeon about it. At the very least, I'll ask one of the medics. Probably on Monday or Tuesday, I will go to the Indy VAMC, to go to Patient Records and request copies of my treatment records from 2006 to present, as well as copies of " my " x-rays and MRI images. I don't know how much longer it'll be before I get to an Army hospital, but at this point it's better that I'll be on active duty orders for it, rather than temporary disability leave from work, seeing how I'll likely be out of commission for 6 months, for healing and rehabilitation. Guest guest
So it feels like a bone pain?? or muscle? My legs used to hurt badly the beginning of my chemo cycles. My neuro-oncology doctor put me on lyrica, mostly for my pressure headaches, so not sure if it was supposed to help my legs or not. Though the pain comes and goes for me now. They mentioned bone pain, (with the neulasta shots) which of course, I am in pain from my head and joints so not sure if I would know how to describe it if I did have bone pain. I hope you get treatment soon. I ended up taking Advil and it helped, though I always had to wait that hour for it to kick in. Now I can't take it, my asthma kicks in. Guest guest
Or pinched nerve pain? I'll guess this is most likely, since my peroneal tendons are involved. From looking at my x-rays that were taken in December 2004, and going on what I can actually feel, there is at least one avulsion fracture in my right ankle, where the anterior talofibular ligament is supposed to be attached to the distal end of the fibula. The " heel bone " ligament is likely only partially avulsed, but it's also overstretched. When my right foot is in planter flexion, I feel a " snapping " sensation, which my 'homework' tells me are the peroneal tendons. When it comes down to it, it probably just depends on how things move around inside my ankle, when I'm walking, as to how much and what type of pain I might experience.
