Carolyn is correct. The debt may be " cleared " but is never " forgiven. "

I used to work in a financial aid office in a university. Sallie Mae was one of

the larger lenders, and yes your Dr. has to submit documentation. If you do go

this route, follow up with all three credit reporting agencies also, to ensure

it is reported correctly.
