Guest guest
Hi everyone! Well here is my update from my MIA last week. Hubby was home allllll week on vacation, and when he’s home I cannot concentrate enough to compose any e-mails, or talk on the phone, or hardly anything else, because he’s here. Not that he and I had a big love fest of anything of the sort, lol,…….but my attention [which is limited to one thing or person at a time] was devoted to him, and what he wanted to do. Which most of the week we watched TV, and talked, and just had a nice time being together. Not that we were alone mind you!! Tina our dau is staying with us, and she spent the week nursing a sore mouth from having all 4 wisdom teeth taken out [which I questioned the “wisdom” in that decision]. But, she had lots of friends tell her its better to have all 4 out at once………mama says nooooo ½ now, the other ½ later, but who listens to their mama [except challis maybe? ;-) ] So she was moaning and groaning, and lamenting over the fact that she couldn’t eat, so that meant no popcorn for our movie nights, which were every night. [yay, Netflix!] We all had noodles, lots of soft noodles……… yummy…….! J So that took up the majority of our time. THEN……………… Both hubby and Tina decided they were going to paint the living room, and get that project going seeings how the paint and accessories have been sitting in my dining room for 4 weeks, and was suppose to have been done by her, and the jerk soon to be ex [have you gotten to the “J’s” yet?] So bless hubby’s and Tina’s hearts as they dove into the project with both feet, a sore mouth, broken heart, and hubby’s Lupus flaring. [he really has a martyr’s mentality] but, I love him for his willingness to suffer thru his pain to do something for me that delighted me so. It turned out beautiful. All that is left is the curtains to be hung, and then the next project is the kitchen/family rm. If it wasn’t for Tina she was the driving force behind it, it might not have gotten done. He never could have gotten it done without her. I on the other hand watched the whole thing come together, not without a few questions here and there, that got a few “looks”, and “yes, dears” from hubby……….and it was stressful to say the least for me, as in the old days I would have been helping as much if not more. Its hard being a spectator. [sigh] By the weekend, hubby was hurting pretty bad, and then he got sick. A stomach thing, and dizziness. We thought it might be from the fumes of the paint, but it had very little odor. I think he overdid it. He still thinks he can do everything like he did pre-lupus, and isn’t dealing with limitations very well. Today he was okay to go back to work, but as the old saying goes “he needs a vacation from his vacation”! lol….. So I am back for now, and am the process of catching up, like Val! J You are probably wondering why I named this post “my only vice”, and I was going to talk about that, but then decided to talk about the week first. So, my only vice is…………..stay tuned to the next post. Ha, ha,….just kidding!! ;-) ICECREAM!!! I don’t smoke, drink or take drugs, but I am addicted to ICECREAM! I just don’t know how I will ever give it up? I have to start losing some weight soon, and from past experience I can’t lose while I am eating IC. I tried the low-carb stuff, and it was barely tolerable, but there’s nothing like the real thing. It is my only comfort food, and it has to be high fat quality. The good stuff………sigh………! So my friends that’s it from me for now. Hugs to all, Jackie p/s WELCOME newbies!
Guest guest
What a week for you (and family)! What color is the living room now? And what was it before? 4 wisdom teeth at once? That must have been horrible! I had two pulled when I was pregnant with my son and that was bad enough. I can't imagine 4. She's a tough one, that girl of yours! Ice cream? I love Breyer's. It's all natural--no garbage, fillers, artificial colors.... My 10 y/o granddaughter is very allergic to artificial colors and some preservatives. So we are very happy with Breyers. When I was still doing my Avonex shots I always treated myself after the shot with either Starbucks Coffee Ice Cream or Ben & Jerry's Pistachio Pistachio. That was my reward. lol I've missed you here on the group while you were busy with hubby and painting and all! I'm glad you are back full time!! hugs))) Sharon Sharon (MSersLife creator/owner) Keep true to the dreams of thy youth. (Albert Einstein) My only vice? Hi everyone!
