Guest guest
(Butting in politely) Joy, have you had an actual " limb length study " where they x-ray and actually measure your bones to determine if one leg is longer than the other? If you haven't had that done, please be careful about the " lift " in your shoe. I've had two therapists and a podiatrist wonder about (or actually report that) one leg was longer than the other, causing my hip misalignment. I finally had the limb length study done, and *surprise* my legs were almost exactly the same length--within normal range! It seems that when the pubic symphysis is out, or the SI joint, it pulls one side of the hips up (or the other side down) and may make it appear that there is a discrepancy in leg length. When and if they can get the hips and pelvis aligned, if only for a short time, they may be able to see with the naked eye that the heels are " even " and the legs are actually the same length. So, what I am saying is, be careful if they give you one of those lifts for one shoe. If your legs *are* the same length, it may actually make the pubic symphysis distraction or SI problems worse. Sorry to sound like a know-it-all; I've just been there and suffered too long before they got their facts straight. Hope this helps, B Re: Joy - Shoes (oxfords) > > > When you say " little lift " do you just mean those little white " heel > > pads...that " used to " come with all shoes? or do you mena something > else? > > > > Do you mean the ones that stuck in the back of the shoe? Guest guest
I agree. I was a wheelchair fitter who worked closely with the Ot's and such. It always started sith the pelvic region if the base is not stable it affects everything and overtime can become worse and unmanagable. Be sure the frist time.
