Guest guest
I do get them if I take too much of any vitamin/supplement. But it is interesting because I have been taking 32 miligrams of Biotin daily and I do not get the raw lips, but it does happen with high doses of Zinc. I also take 1000mg of Magnesium glycinate as I feel my body absorb it better than another type of magnesium, to help me to keep regular as biotin can cause constipation when taken in high doses. Guest guest
We get cracked lips under a few different circumstances: 1. too low of certain B vitamins, 2. when detoxing, 3. when I try to wear lipsticks and chapsticks. The corners of the mouth cracking seems to be the B vitamins. Layers peeling off seems to be the detoxing or lipsticks/chapsticks. Love and prayers, Heidi N

Guest guest
Layers of lip peeling - possibly from detox or too much vit a and/or zinc. It could also be from eating paper that he shoves in his mouth when upset. Paper is sharp.FranselFrom: fight4thekids@...Sender: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Date: Fri, 15 Apr 2011 07:58:18 -0500To: <BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism >ReplyTo: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Subject: Re: Raw cracking lips We get cracked lips under a few different circumstances: 1. too low of certain B vitamins, 2. when detoxing, 3. when I try to wear lipsticks and chapsticks. Guest guest
If he is eating paper he maybe lacking some vitamins/ minerals. When my son was two he used to eat non edible items( chewed the steering wheel in my car, paper, cards etc) and only stopped when I supplemented him the proper vitamins and minerals he was lacking back them. Perhaps your son needs to have the OAT test to see how his minerals, vitamins, amino acids and fatty accids are, and perhaps also test him for foods/environmental allergies, to see what he lacks and what needs to be supplemented with.just my opinion. Guest guest
Hi Fransel Im going to chime on this one as my daughter 6yr newly diagnosed pandas has had terrible cracked lips for the last 6 weeks -I was blaming everything and trying various supps to resolve it .I gave up on trying in the last week or so as she developed an acute strep flare and was put on Augmentin ...3 days into the course of ant b the cracked lips are gone.So now i definately think there is a link to dry lips and strep -its not something ive researched yet but its definately significant here. Guest guest
Hello - I have really wondered about strep and PANDAS. When I gave nystatin to clear yeast flare up caused by herbal treatment, my son went crazy wild and stopping helped as nystatin had strep strain. My lyme doctor kept on saying we had no strep based on blood test but never tested for strep in his gut. My son is very reactive to any treatment so I still have not treated the lyme until I see another doc Chitra Bhakta in Irvine. I was also in touch with Barbara VP of the CA Lyme Disease Association who suggested I go see Dr. Potkin in Beverly Hills as he treated her lyme and has several autistic patients. What strep test did you get? Did your child have a bad reaction to augmentin? Don't antibiotics do harm to our children's gut? My son did not do well with Zhang herbs as they had cornstarch where he is +3 for corn in IGG/E. Stopping charcoal also settled him down. My son has lyme + bartonella + anti-plasma and secondary infection of ralstonia insidiosa. I am letting him settle down first after last week's violent episodes. He is 17 and very strong.FranselSender: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Date: Sat, 16 Apr 2011 18:01:54 -0000To: <BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism >ReplyTo: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Subject: Re: Raw cracking lips Hi FranselIm going to chime on this one as my daughter 6yr newly diagnosed pandas has had terrible cracked lips for the last 6 weeks -I was blaming everything and trying various supps to resolve it .I gave up on trying in the last week or so as she developed an acute strep flare and was put on Augmentin ...3 days into the course of ant b the cracked lips are gone.So now i definately think there is a link to dry lips and strep -its not something ive researched yet but its definately significant here.HTH> > >> > > Has anyone observed this!
