Which foreign country, so we can better direct you?

old ASD child. I suspect bacterial infection but also would like to test for

viruses. We live in a foreign country where Lyme is rare so I am not relying on

the labs here. I would rather FedEx to the US, but without a US Lyme doc or

even a biomedical doctor I have no clue which labs to use. Any suggestions

would be very helpful! Thank you!

Same here, please; in the Lyme-illiterate kingdom of Floridada, we might as well be in Guam per good reliable labs for this specialty field. Heidi, this place is Desolation Row.To: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Sent: Sun, April 10, 2011 7:13:43 PMSubject: Re: Lab recommendations

Here's a link to a famous doc in Florida:

He's pretty darn famous, lots of books, theories, etc.

Heidi,

I have corresponded briefly through email with this doctor. He asks $575 for a

30 minute phone consult and asks for credit card information via email request

up front. He promises to have the magic cure and the whole scenario just made

me a bit uneasy. I am not comfortable giving me credit card info via email to

anyone these days......

Not saying he isn't legit, just seems he should have a better payment system set

up. Hopefully someone on this list can vouch for him.

I've read couple of his books and articles - my personal choice is that I

wouldn't go to him, unless there is no other hope and nothing else working for

me. He is strong believer that the only way to treat Lyme is with antibiotics.

So far my all natural approach works for my family and many other docs

including dr K say antibiotics are not the only way.

Dina,

Can you tell me more about your all natural approach? I always prefer to try the

natural approach first. Also, who is Dr. K? I am new to this list and biomed

in general. Thanks!

We used to see this doctor. Your insurance company will most likely eventually

give you are hard time. Mine had already cut us off of meds by 4 months and

labs by 6 months. I probably could have avoided this by not having him treat 3

family members at once, it is a small insurance company and we have basically

been flaged for life.

I would say that he was an excellent doctor for me. I had been sick for years,

responded well to multiple antibiotics and was willing to take a million things

at once. He did help me clear babesia. I personally would have stayed with

him, but once my insurance company cut off labs and meds, I had no choice.

He was not as a good fit for my son who was 2 1/2 years old at the time. My son

could not take high doses of antibiotics.

I have found for my son the best protocol is low doses of multiple antibiotics +

herbs, starting at super low doses and moving up to high doses. He is now

seeing his former pediatric LLMD.

I am now seeing a NY based LLMD and love him. He will rx a good amount of abx,

does muscle testing and I have the knowledge of my former doctor's herb

protocols to supplement the program.

It appears that Igenex and Fry Labs of Arizona are still the most popular labs

on the forums to be able to detect Lyme and coinfections.

Caryn,

Can you tell me contact information for your son's LLMD? I think it is

important that I find someone to determine if a clinical diagnosis is warranted.

Seems appropriate to me, but I know very little.

Dr. S uses a lot of naturals. He wrote the book on Arteminisin/Artimesia and Artunesuate. He is amazing for some and for others perhaps not the ticket due to cost and location. He is ahead of the curve on genetics and treating mold...fortunately that gap is closing with our docs. Many haven't studied up on this aspect.

We also used to see this Dr.

My opinion on this Dr is not that positive. He is abnoxiously expensive. He

even charged me 250$ for 15 mins he spent on sending me a letter when my

insurance questioned one of the lab work he ordered. He treated 3 of us (mom,

dad, ASD son) and I see that usually he dianoses the whole family. It might be

true also. But if you decide to go to this Dr, be prepared whether you can

spend that much money.

He also prescribes very high does of antibiotics which may not suit everybody.

My son (3 yr old at that time) eventually diagnosed with IBD. My husband also

did not do that well with those antibiotics. After my son's IBD diagnosis, we

did not go back to this Dr.

I dont mind spending more money to recover my son, but at the same time, I dont

want to be broke in couple of years.
