Guest guest
OF COURSE Naproxen(Aleve) is too harsh for our pouches! (Just crush some in some food and feel what it does to your mouth...!) And, yes, your list is accurate. I suggested to PL that she use Motrin/aspirin etc. for her bad body aches only as a one day-type usage (and with the precautions of drinking LOTS of water with it to wash it through the pouch, and to eat something to further coat her stomach). I'm not surprised if your stomach is torn up if you've been using NSAIDS everyday! Only thing to do now is wait for it to heal... Always tell all your doctors about our surgery and how we've been rearranged. Sorry you're sick... Guest guest
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. It's aspirin! Ow! I NEVER could take any of this stuff, since I was the original Ulcer Queen since the 70's. So, I hear the name, I feel pain in the stomach I no longer even HAVE because it was so pitted with antique ulcer scars. Guest guest
Ask about gastric bleed. It often happens without any pain at all and can be FATAL. It's no joke to avoid these meds. Guest guest
Hi Jeanne, I lived with RA for 4 yrs. and have now been in remission for about 6. At the time I was taking ibuprofen and Methotrexate as my main meds. Someone on another list said that this surgery could cause RA and/or Lupus, but that 's the first time I ever heard anything like that. Have you heard anything about this? in California RNY Surgery date: 03/29/02 Re: List of Medications Hi all. My rheumatologist put me on an anti-inflammatory called Salsalate. I take two in the morning and two in the evening. I don't know if these are still OK after surgery, but I do know that they've never caused me any stomach discomfort. I will be asking my surgeon about this med when I see him on April 4th. Jeanne in WI

Guest guest
No I haven't, . I don't have RA, just fibromyalgia. But I started seeing the rheumatologist since FMS is related to arthritis. I stopped seeing him a couple of years ago and now my primary doc handles my meds. Jeanne in WI Re: List of Medications Hi all. My rheumatologist put me on an anti-inflammatory called Salsalate. He said it was as safe as Tylenol, although the warnings do seem to be the same as for other NSAIDS on the prescription facts sheets. I was put on this because I did have ulcers but needed something for my pain. They are large pills, you would probably have to cut them into fourths to take them. I have had bad headaches since I was 8 some I had used to last for weeks at a time. before my surgery I had them EVERY day. That was one major reason for the surgery. I must say that they are better but I still get them but not as much. My migraines are still around but I don't get them as often as I used to. My neurologist says that most meds that we take for migraines have caffeine in them Helena Beasley post-Op Open RNY 5'2 247 lb. BMI 42 cw 218 lb. goal 135 lb.
