How much melatonin can I safely give my 17yr old? I am hoping to use this to calm him down during the day and at bedtime. He didn't have lyme then. Guess what? Yesterday we stopped Nystatin and switched to Diflucan and NO behaviors today. Changed the dose of Resperidal from night to morning. Good interaction today. We have given 3mg meltonin for a 120# young adult since she was about 12y.

Recently upped it to 6mg time released. Has tolerated it fine. We do take breaks

now and then. We also found that folic acid was a disaster-aggressive, nasty

behavior!! She could not tolerate folinic either. She does tolerate the 5 methyl

tetrahydrofolate. It was only after she was on this folate for awhile that she

was able to tolerate the MB12. For B66 we use the P5P form w/o problems.

Where do I get time released melatonin. Mine comes from KIRKMAN. You are correct on the folinic. When we added folinic to the B12 shots his behaviors increased. I should have caught that the but blamed some food items instead and am still doing detective work on his fruits intake. I have given MB12+folinic now for a year. He did better with plain B12. Hi Anne- do you happen to know why melatonin would result in extreme dry mouth? I cant seem to handle it and Im curious why.

Haven’t heard of that effect, but I haven’t researched all the different effects of melatonin, either.  It makes me extremely drowsy the next day, so I have avoided it for several years. He didn't have lyme then. Guess what? Yesterday we stopped Nystatin and switched to Diflucan and NO behaviors today. Changed the dose of Resperidal from night to morning. Good interaction today.
