I am in S. FL and cannot travel out of state to see the doctor, but it could be run thru a doctor here. Please help; the university immunology department assistant doctor was very impatient and cruel last week when I was crying from discomfort and repeatedly verbally attacked me for even bringing Lyme up as a subject, even though it is in my charts and I have a note from the Pennsylvania doctor. It might not be a good idea to go to the U of M Immunology Dept. if you even suspect you have Lyme, because they will automatically diagnose you with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and not even call it CFIDS. Despite repeated mentions of the findings of Dr. Kerry of the Univ. of North Florida, who has found Lyme ticks all over Florida, they ignore the info and this one U of M doctor would not let me complete a sentence. I was blown away by the ignorance. They are not up on the latest research I have heard of. Thank you for anything I can get done somewhat locally. Guest guest
Thanks. Good start . Anyone else with accurate results? Confidence? Track record? I so appreciate our exchanges; in all circumstances, we will prevail due to our generous info swaps. Blessings for all.To: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Sent: Mon, March 21, 2011 8:21:24 PMSubject: Re: Lyme and coinfection testing; info needed asap please Frye Labs also does good Lyme testing Subject: Lyme and coinfection testing; info needed asap pleaseTo: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism , tamiduncan@..., "Sandi Lanford" , "Dolores Claesson" Date: Monday, March 21, 2011, 3:06 PM Hello, Who does the best and most accurate full range testing for Lyme and coinfections outside of Igenex, which according to all the info that comes in to me is not that reliable? Guest guest
Hi Jeanie I am CDC positive for Borrelia at Quest and not at Igenex. Also, because of cross reactivity of antibodies you may test pos for Brucella but may actually have Tularemia, Yersinia, entercolitica, and other bacteria. Antibody testing is quite flawed. For instance I have been pos for Mycoplasma pneumoniae and Chlamydia pneumoniae, but could actually have Chlamydia psittaci....so it is very hard to ascertain exactly what we have....when there is so much cross reaction. People are showing up with iella burnetti or Q fever, Brucella, Tularemia and two people here in my support group are originally from Long Island and are both pos for Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and Typhus and lyme. Specialty labs was good at finding Bartonella and now Quest acquired them and Hemex was purchased by Lab Corp so now you can get good hematological testing at Lab Corp. I think you can get as many tests as possible from labs that are covered by insurance and then branch out to see what else you may have. Also Focus was purchased by Quest and they now have tests for Babesia duncani. Quest also now has a test for Tularemia. There are other labs coming up....Fry, Spirostat, Neuroscience, Immunoscience, Clongen etc. One can also use Genova, Spectracell etc....and of course labs for XMRV, KPU/HPU and heavy metal testing....we should probably all tell which labs we used and what we found out....that would be helpful to all. for instance, which place has the best test for Beta strep ? The State of FL has form 1847 which lists many pathogens they will test for. I have a conference call with the physician and county epidemiologist tomorrow to discuss this. I do not have experience with some of these other labs, so can not address those issues. Good Luck to all on their healing journey.....Regards, Dolores Subject: Lyme and coinfection testing; info needed asap pleaseTo: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism , tamiduncan@..., "Sandi Lanford" , "Dolores Claesson" Date: Monday, March 21, 2011, 3:06 PM Hello, Who does the best and most accurate full range testing for Lyme and coinfections outside of Igenex, which according to all the info that comes in to me is not that reliable?
