Can anyone recommend good toothpaste for autistic children? I have 5years old

autistic boy with GF/CF/SF diet and he doesn't spit out after brush his teeth. I

have been using flouride-free Orajel training toothpaste because it indicated it

is safe to swallow but I don't think it cleans the teeth enough.

We use ora-md tooth oil drops. You dont rinse your mouth out after brushing with it. Only put 3-4 drops on toothbrushTCan anyone recommend good toothpaste for autistic children? Xylitol is actually used by some to kill Bartonella. We haven't noticed any

adverse reactions to it. My local healthfood store had several brands of

toothpaste. I just bought all the flouride-free ones and had my kids pick the

ones they like. Now makes a cinnamon one that tastes good.

Love and prayers,

If you are concerned, you could just use baking soda and sea salt.

We use a flouride free toothpaste. There are lots of them available today.

Some xylotol brands are derived from corn and that is the one that could be bad,

but the one that is derived from the birch tree is a good source.

We have been using that for ages and in large amounts( drinks, cooking etc) and

no bad effect seen here.

I have used baking soda for years. I love it. My teeth have not been

eroded. I'm not afraid of it, but I don't know if kids will like the

taste of it.

Love and prayers,

baking soda is abrasive to the enamel and I have seen many sites

indicate its

probably best avoided for children. many sites indicate children can

brush with

plain water. they need to avoid sugars (candy, soda, etc.).
