Guest guest
ur post is veeeeery interesting bruce and got into deep thinking;) <<<With me, I've got a lot of observing going on but very little engaged presence.>>> This happned to me last thursday. when i was trying too hard to focus on 'observing' so to distract myself from the trembling jaw. that sorta observing got me out of the present moment. <<I would like to lose myself in activities and fully feel my emotions. >>>> bruce i remmeber u asking about ur bike riding, and u not getting what u wanted out of it, hence casuign frustration. have u tried this way russ harris mentions in his book. when he hasta do a chore which he is aboslutely not looking forward to, washing his dog. connect with the acitivty in a diff. way. like randy says in his post too about the record player metaphor. notice the sounds u hear when i peddle, notice ur feet/legs as they move, notice ur hands and how u hold on.....etc.etc. somtimes u need to be that present and engage in activities with no expetations at all... <<<<It seems like the latter makes me kind of a spectator of my life rather than a participant >>>> what u r saying makes total sense, but i have no idea how it often wroks for me when i am the observer self and am able to be present too...the times it doesn't i havta dig deep and catch that 1 thought/emotion/'desire' i am still fused too that is preventing me from being present... wasalaam:-)
