What does he do that makes you think this? Does he get occupational therapy?

An OT can assess the sensory systems, although the olfactory sense is not an

easy one to evaluate. Does he act like all food tastes the same?

My sister-in-law lost her sense of smell after a traumatic brain injury from a

car accident. She eventually recovered her sense of smell, but it was years

later. I imagine this sense could be dampened or lost when there is infection

or trauma to that area of the brain.

This is common for kids on the spectrum. I believe it is linked to mercury

poisoning. Mercury often settles in the tips of appendages (fingers, toes,

lips, nose, penis, etc) and interferes with smell, taste, fine motor skills,

potty training, etc. We found that using transdermal chelators locally (on

face) and FIR sauna helped mobilize the metals, heal neuropathy and return the

sense of smell.

I'm in a unique situation as my child was fully recovered and then regressed

again after an acute mercury poisoning exposure at school. His sense of smell

had returned to him and then was gone again after the re-exposure to mercury so

I'm fairly certain that was the connection for us. We are working toward

getting it back again.

Hi ,

Thanks for that information. That is an interesting connection. My daughter has

neuropathy on her right side and it seems to be worse on some days than others.

She curls her toes a lot and even stands with her toes curled under on the right

side. I stopped vaccinating her after 6 months, but I'm guessing she could have

gotten heavy metals from me in utero and from the initial shots. At 6 months old

she only wanted to eat really sour foods like sauerkraut juice. I think she has

dulled senses in her taste/smell as well.

I also have a son who is 29 months w/ lyme and ASD. At what age can you do the

FIR sauna safely? Also, is there a particular kind that you like? How often is

it recommended to do?

Can you also tell me about the transdermal chelators?

Thanks so much! And sorry to hear about the mercury exposure. Did you figure

this out on your own or did the school tell you about the exposure? Were other

children effected, too?

Isa,

Sorry, more questions;)

What problems did you had with IV chelation n your son?

What were the chelators you used and with what concentrations?

Thanks,

Sasmita

Thanks Isa.

But how much you put in each IV matters a LOT too.

Do you remember How much CaEDTA and Glutathione you used at a time?

Thanks,

Sasmita

Sorry Ladies, I haven't had a chance to get on the boards much lately. I found

out about the mercury exposure because I discovered it (stack of fluorescent

bulbs outside of my son's classroom toppled over and exploded). Yes, other

children were affected to to varying degrees. Our friends' son was in a

classroom further down the hall and was even more affected than our own.

I can attest that the second time around is harder. It is like when you break a

leg or sprain an ankle. It becomes injured more easily again the next time and

heals slower. The sand is softer and even though we knew exactly what we needed

to do to help him this time, his injuries were more extensive.

We have used several transdermal chelators over the years. Currently, our

protocal includes IV chelation every two weeks (PK push followed by EDTA, DMPS,

glutathione, vitamin C and trace minerals). Then we use transdermal DMPS the

night of the IV and the two nights after the IV. We also use ALA every four

hours the day of and two days after the IV. We've found that this has helped

carry the metals dislodged by the IV all the way out and his liver and kidneys

are not getting so backed up and compromised this way. We also do IMT weekly

(like cranio sacral but for the entire body, and we often find that he's needing

the IMT for his kidneys). We also use transdermal EDTA nightly.

We have a High Tech Health FIR sauna but I like HTH and Heavenly Heat equally.

I recommend to parents that you call and inquire about price and questions but

never buy on that first call. A sales person will almost always call you back

within two weeks offering you a " sale " to get you to buy that can save you money

on cost and shipping. I recommend buying either HTH or HH and go with which

ever one you can get the best deal on. We've had our 3 person HTH sauna for 6

years now, have taken it apart and moved it twice with ease and have not ever

had a problem with it yet. My son started using it when he was 4yo (my daughter

was 2). The most important advice I can give is that you go right in and not

wait for it to heat up first. The FIR rays are even more important than the

heat. The goal is to have the heaters running the whole time your in there and

never get to the max temp setting. Keep windows open, vent on or door open to

let fresh air in and keep those rays on. The FIR sauna absolutely healed the

neuropathy in my son's penis (once we started letting him in naked) and was the

key to potty training for him (don't use it right when you can't feel it).

My son prefers strong tasting foods too. The more garlic and pepper the better.

I say use that and add cilantro to everything! Cilantro will help mobilize the

metals. Growing cilantro is really easy too. You can easily add it to a patch

in your garden or in a safe pot and grow it fresh to cut and add to any recipe.

Health and Hope!
