Guest guest
na, Your children might be too young for using charcoal. I would use plant fiber to help absorbing toxins. I would give vitamin C and E to help removing bacteria and detox. Vitamin C can temporarily worsen diarrhea. Do give plenty of electrolyte water. A high dose of probiotic is a good idea. Liverlife (Bioray) and organic red root tincture (Biopure) can help to cleanse liver and blood. Anti-parastic herbs can cause severe diarrhea - a treatment reaction caused by the worms. Watch out for this, too. Hope they get better soon! Guest guest
Thank you. Is there a specific product I can buy at the store that contains plant fiber or were you thinking I should give them a certain food? My son takes liquid bentonite daily- it's a clay that is for absorbing " toxins " ...I'm not sure how it works exactly. Is this similar to charcoal? I will get the electrolyte water...good idea. Interesting what you say about the anti-parasite treatments. My son just tested very sensitive to parasites last week doing Zyto/BioSet. I have seen several red specks and tiny worm looking things in his diaper since yesterday. I am not sure now if the diarrhea is related to the parasites?? I tasted the milk this morning and something was definitely off. It wasn't curdled but it has a strange taste. Thanks for your help, n > > > Hello, > > This may be a little off topic, but I was wondering how to best handle what I suspect is food posioning with my children. > > > > They are young (29 months and 12 months). Guest guest
one thing that always worked when my kids were small was to get some liquid fruit pectin from the canning section at the store. mix 1 tbsp of pectin to a couple of tablespoons of water and a sweetener if desired. You give this mixture every time there is a bm. It will restore stool form within 24 hours. You may be able to use even less for very small kids. It never failed us when our kids were tiny. It feeds the good gut bugs.Subject: help with food poisoningTo: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Date: Friday, May 13, 2011, 1:17 PM Hello, This may be a little off topic, but I was wondering how to best handle what I suspect is food posioning with my children. Guest guest
Thank you for your recommendation. I couldn't find the liquid form so I bought a powder mix. I wasn't sure how to administer it-- it was almost like tar... Haha... But I can definitely see how it would stop diarrhea. Thanks for your help! Guest guest
na, Hi, sorry I have been out of town and just saw your post. Maybe it's too late, but you could use activated charcoal to mop up the bad stuff from food poisoning, die off, etc. Just give it an hour or so away from supplements because it will mop up everything, including the good stuff. I would also give extra Probiotics too! Guest guest
Thank you for all the suggestions. We are trying several things and haven't had much of a break from the diarrhea, especially for my son. Kari- how much charcoal and how often? Someone mentioned that he may be too young for it. Do you give it to your son? I will pick some up today if it might help. I have been wondering if I should stop all the other supplements until this resolves. I decided today to stop all the supplements that kill bugs because I think he needs a break from the toxicity. Does this sound right? I have been giving him ginger extract and a few other herbals that help with drainage. I just feel horrible for them, although they don't seem like they are that sick, but I'm really worried about dehydration and more nutrient deficiency. na > > > > > > From: briannahall80 <briannalomba@> > > > Subject: help with food poisoning > > > To: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism > > > Date: Friday, May 13, 2011, 1:17 PM > > > > > > > > > Hello, > > > This may be a little off topic, but I was wondering how to best handle what I suspect is food posioning with my children. > > > > > > They are young (29 months and 12 months). Guest guest
Brinanna Some people think milk of different species is not a good idea at all: book " China Study " .. of course it is a source of protein.. but so are many other foods. Not wanting to eat is consistent with gut problems (again from prespective of Chinese medicine) weakness of Spleen, as a chinese system vs phyisical organ, will cause not wanting to eat. if at all possible, some good acupuncture to support stomach/spleen will assist geting appetite on track as well as general wellbeing especially when lots of detoxing work is done as it will assist the liver and generally balance the body. Japanese acupuncture .. the style of inserting the needle is remarkably painless.. but choose someone with many many years of experience. One could also consider calling a local school of acupuncture and looking at biographies/experince of the teachers as all schools have clinincs.. in SF ACTCM is a better school. Putting a little cholophill into children's dringking water would be great in boosting the intestinal health.. and color like in wizard of OZ.. ( just in case kids think it is strange) I use almond milk from Trader Joes, which i like a lot BUT a good nutitioninst will NOT recommend to give children milk out of a carton because of chemicals involved in making the carton, but making soy (organic bean!!) or nut milk ( .. which in itself is not hard but.. we all have too many things to do alreday.. soak the almonds for 24 hrs, put through the blender and then squeeze out through a fabric (I used a clean old pillow case making a carrot shape corner, like in cake decorating only without a hole.. One of you amazing young women wrote about UTubes of Donna Gates making fermented foods.. that is supposed to be great for gut healing.. and lots of good water to flush through Olga A., Walnut Creek, Ca > > > > > > Subject: help with food poisoning > > To: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism > > Date: Friday, May 13, 2011, 1:17 PM > > > > > > Hello, > > This may be a little off topic, but I was wondering how to best handle what I suspect is food posioning with my children. > > > > They are young (29 months and 12 months). Guest guest
We use Solgar and I give 1 capsule which is 300 mg. My son weighs 38 pounds. He's 3 years 8 months. I know people with younger, smaller kids who have used it. I have only used it a few times to aid in the discomfort of die off. My son has bad yeast issues. I have never used it for diarrhea but I don't think giving one dose would hurt. Whatever brand you buy will be dosed according to adults so just cut in in half for child or 1/4 if you have a small toddler. Guest guest
na couple other thoughts: a diarrhea is a body's way of celansing itself.. as long as it does not last very long.. so in itself not a great reason to panic ( i understand the anxiety).. but coupled with lots of fluid intake may be just what the body needs to cleanse it self from whatever did not agree with it. Stopping the diarrhea may be trapping toxins.. caution.. I also forgot to mention: in TCM (chinese medicne) energy of spleen indicates someone's ability to learn... with weak spleen (this will also cause diarrhea) a child may eventually have learning issues.. so a good reason to work on it as well. With very young children magnets can be used instead of needles.. not as effective but may be easier to administer.. Guest guest
Hi Olga, Thank you for all your thoughts. I am right with you on the cleansing aspect. In some ways, I think this may be related to parasites and the body ridding itself of them because I have seen many strange things show up in their stools over the past few days. Both of my children were acting strange around the new moon (I know it's supposed to be full moon with parasites, right? but that was my observation) and then my son tested very sensitive to parasites at BioSet that same week. I've found red specks, black specks, thread-like things, etc. Lots of mucous, too. Their stools aren't actually all that watery, more mucousy/jello...sorry if that's gross to read Is it possible that the food poisoning created this flush, which brought out parasites? I also feel similar to you with the milk issue. I probably would have not done goat milk with my daughter, but she tested ok for it through our naturopathic saliva testing. Also, since it's raw I thought it would be easier to digest. I am giving it to my son as yogurt because it has been highly recommended through the SCD diet as " gut healing " . I used to do the homemade almond milk, but stopped when I suspected phenol and possible oxalate issues. It's sooo confusing?!! It sometimes leaves me paralyzed because I just don't know what the right thing to do is. Right now my son is on SCD/low-oxalate diet. I know the diet has helped with his allergies/sensitivites, but it has not changed his stool problems, which I now believe is due to parasites. Do you know about BioSet? Would this also work for body balancing as you mentioned in terms of accupuncture? We have an appointment his week, which is why I ask. Sorry for the long post...the last few days have had me very puzzled. na > > > > > > From: briannahall80 <briannalomba@> > > > Subject: help with food poisoning > > > To: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism > > > Date: Friday, May 13, 2011, 1:17 PM > > > > > > > > > Hello, > > > This may be a little off topic, but I was wondering how to best handle what I suspect is food posioning with my children. > > > > > > They are young (29 months and 12 months). Guest guest
Hi, na i have no experience with BioSet. i was just commenting from classical TCM. Very possible that the stool reflects body working out parasites. I used to study TCM: so from that perspective what i said still holds: parasites would be called dampness which is hard on Spleen.. ( all chinese med students talk about determining a pattern of imabalance is poop.. no worries.. ) I would think diet is very important : feed the child , starve the parasites. it is difficult. I follow Pitchford author of a famous book " Healing with Whole Foods " based on TCM. I know would say to stay away from all dairy. Go figure. I know a very old time tested food for gently supporting digestive system is old Chinese porrige called Jook: 1 cup of sweeet rice (organic) like sushi rice and 8 cups of water in a slowcooker over nght on low... if it was me and the child and not eating that well or i am concerned about nutrition, i would add half organic chicken broth and half water.. amazingly good for digestion. said to me once : Chinese army ate brown rice and steamed vegetables and were undefeated.. the strongest.. I have just been to Dr Klinghardt's seminar. He talked about stem cell regenerative therapy as a lst resort for restoration for people so run down by the illness that no matter what they do they cannot recover. Myself i believe our bodies are magical, build with more wisdom than we know.. they should be able to repair themselves especially in young people. Treating parasites is very difficult, am not surpriesed if children acting strange during the treatment.. to be expected, as parasites die they project consciousness.. panic.. fear.. etc..and a host acts as though it is their feelings. I briefly looked up BioSet i do not see how it would be comprobable to acupuncture although sounds an intersting product line. Why do you think it is food poisoning? What other symptoms aside form diarrhea did children have? O. > > > > > > > > From: briannahall80 <briannalomba@> > > > > Subject: help with food poisoning > > > > To: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism > > > > Date: Friday, May 13, 2011, 1:17 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > Hello, > > > > This may be a little off topic, but I was wondering how to best handle what I suspect is food posioning with my children. > > > > > > > > They are young (29 months and 12 months). I am so bummed because I thought we were doing a good thing by finding this source of raw goat milk, but I'm wondering if pasteurized is the way to go for her. > > > > > > > > na > > > > > > > > > > > > > >

He writes a lot, i cannot rewrite it all here. But he says that for prevention chew a handfull of (1/3cup) of raw brown rice till liquid.. but NOT eat cooked rice!! Some foods that repel parasites are: raw garlic, beet cabbage, carrot , leak, onion, radish , sorrel- stronger antiparasitic effect if eaten raw, roasted pumpkin seeds,, kelp, umeboshi plum.. pages 656-667 of " Healing with WHole Foods " - sorry na! Guest guest
Thank you Olga! How nice of you to give me such specifics. I will have to get the book you are referring to. Just to clarify, is he not recommending eating cooked rice at all or just for parasite prevention? When you say that parasites are hard to get rid of, why do you think that is? Have you heard of successful treatment protocols? My kids are on herbal formulas that are broad spectrum and include anti-parasitic components. They have been on these herbs for about 8 weeks, but this is the first major parastie die-off that I've seen. I've seen other types of regression/progression, but they didn't involve such dramatic bowel issues. This is what brought me to believe that it was food-poisoning. It came on very suddenly and I tasted the sour milk that same day. I will definitely look into the Japanese accupuncture treatment. I have one more question. My daughter has right-sided weakness. She is only 13 months and I cannot tell if she also has numbness, but she curls her toes a lot on the right side. Our pediatrician recommended osteopathy. Another doctor recommended crainio-sacral therapy. And I also was given a recommendation for quantum-rehabilitation. Based on those symptoms, which type of therapy would you think would help most? I'm very new to all of this and value the feedback from those who know much more about alternative medicine. Thanks again!! na > > > > > > > > > > From: briannahall80 <briannalomba@> > > > > > Subject: help with food poisoning > > > > > To: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism > > > > > Date: Friday, May 13, 2011, 1:17 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hello, > > > > > This may be a little off topic, but I was wondering how to best handle what I suspect is food posioning with my children. > > > > > > > > > > They are young (29 months and 12 months).
