Guest guest
Krassi, I dont know if they have everything, but Mountain Rose is a good herbal source. I have too been seaking out chinese medicine. I get really excited about it, but its important to find someone with experience. That is only my experience and my reasoning for sharing that is only bc its important for someone to have alot of experience when trying to treat chronically ill patient I think when used it the right way it can be very useful, if anything strengenthing for the body. The diet helps to feed the internal organs and encourage warmth, remove dampness, or what ever is going on. Good luck with it..Misty Fo-Ti-Tieng herb Just wondering if anybody from this group has used the Chinese herb Fo-Ti-Tieng and seen anything incredibly positive? Supposedly this herb is one of the most renowned herb for longevity, has benefits to the blood, heart and circulatory system, clearing toxins from the body with powerful antibacterial capabilities, cleansing the liver, kidneys and urinary tract, boost immunity in the body and very importantly - rejuvenating or regenerating brain cells. Almost too good to be true. The reason I am looking back in the Chinese medicine is because a while ago (more specifically little more than 2 years ago) I consulted for my son with Dr. Peng over the phone, who is Chinese doctor from Texas and based on symptoms and description of my son's issues he made special customized tea for him which my son used to take for 3 months or so (every month the ingredients of the tea were different, but the doctor didn't want to share what it is inside, simply he kept it a secret). Looking back I remember that these 3 months were probably the best months for my son since he was diagnosed and regressed. Everybody noticed how much more with us he was, happy, playing appropriately and the fact is that it was quite magical to see such a progress for such a short time. However I stopped consulting with this doctor because somebody else did a testing on his herbs and found out that one or more of his herbs didn't come clear enough, probably came from polluted part of China. We switched to Houston Homeopaths and that was the end of our Chinese tea medicine. However often I wondered what was so incredible about Dr. Peng's tea, since we have never seen after that such a big progress with my son for such a short time. Recently I learned that one of the special herbs he was using was Fo-Ti-Tieng, so that's why I wonder again if we should try it. Any opinions of somebody who has tried it and do you know any trusted web site that I can order organic chinese herbs? Thanks in advance, Krassi

Guest guest
I didn't know Fo-ti-Tieng and Gotu Kola are the same, thanks for clarifying this because I have seen this herb in the natural stores. Limin and others who have used Gotu Kola - have you seen some positives and what is the recommended dosage? Thanks Krassi > > > Just wondering if anybody from this group has used the Chinese herb Fo-Ti-Tieng and seen anything incredibly positive? Guest guest
Gotu Kola has a different name, Centella asiatica, than the name that comes up for Fo-Ti-Tieng, which is Polygonum multiflorum, common name is Chinese Knotweed. Fo-Ti-Tieng has medicinal properties, one of which is inhibiting MAO-B in the mitochondria. MAO-A and MAO-B are like a teeter totter, when one is up, the other is down. MAO-A is used by the mitochondria to function aerobically by burning oxygen and glucose to make energy (ATP’s). MAO-B is used in anaerobic metabolism when burning fat to make energy. MAO-A will make a lot more ATP’s per mitochondrial cycle than MAO-B will make, about twice as much. This could be the difference in cognitive function in those who are engaged and those who are not engaged with their surroundings. Nerve cells need a lot of ATP’s to function well. MAO-A is also needed to make Serotonin and Norepinephrine useable as neurotransmitters. Gotu Kola has different effects on cognitive functioning, and can be useful in increasing memory and blood circulation. There are recommendations to not use it in children under the age of 18. Please do not confuse the two products, as they are very different. Both can be helpful, but in different ways. I found Fo-Ti in drop and capsule form on www.iHerb.com at reasonable prices. I plan to try capsules when I place my next order. I currently use Respen spray to stimulate MAO-A production. I have been able to leave my walker behind and start gaining strength since starting on that medication. My cognitive function has also improved with mitochondria treatments and clearing parasites that were detected with ART and determined to be in my brain.
