My perception is that anyone with health problems like autism or Lyme and been

on high oxalate diet like SCD for even a year has problem with metabolizing

oxalates and should try LOD. and testing is similar to heavy metal testing - if

nothing comes out, it doesnt always mean there it's no problem, it might just

mean that body is not able to excrete anything at the moment. So the only way is

to try and see, observe reaction. There is also opinion that no amount of

oxalates in urine is " low " . Again, similar to metals.

Also, apparently oxalates could " encapsulate " infections, not sure how to say

it in English, but it's similar to biofilm. Oxalates are also very destructive

for gut and might be one of candida favorite foods.

Have to warn you though, based on my experience. I tried LOD with my son, and

he responded well initially, but then he started experiencing strange and scary

symptoms... We had to stop LOD, cause it looks like my son might have

hypoglicemia or some other similar problem, testing him for it right now. it

turned out he cannot live without simple carbs, and with GFCFCornFreeSoyFree

restrictions putting him also on

LOD didnt leave enough carbs for him to feel well... I wish I tested him before

doing LOD or would start it with dietician, not by myself.

Hope it helps and not too confusing...

Dina.

> How does one know if you are sensitive to high oxalates? Does the OAT provide

answers? Our doctor said my son did not have high oxalates based on his OAT but

I failed to ask which part of the test said that? Does anyone know how to read

an OAT result?

years but my son's new diagnosis for Lyme has created more sensory intolerances.

He has become very aggressive which I am sure is due to the infections. But if

it is from oxalates and dumping because I have been giving high Oxalate foods

such as nut breads, some fruits and vegetables, how does one know if there is an

Oxalate issue?

high Oxalate and nonSCD compliant. It is so confusing to add the diet into the

mix when the treatment for lyme alone is a challenge.

eyes closed or covers his ears. What could this be? Everything seems painful to

him these days. Things seem to subside a little bit with Motrin - proof that he

has severe gut and brain inflammation. He is going to take Calm PRT for

neurotransmitters, Norlox, Avipaxin, Omega3 DHA Select and Resveratrol for

inflammation, K PAX multi-vitamins, S Boulardii and Custom Probiotics DLactate

to strengthen his gut before the course of antibiotics. He also takes Rescue

Remedy and Barberry. Comments?

and all advice. Thank you.
