Guest guest
Isa, I'm with you on the " (siiighhh) " . I see it here in the states, too, unfortunately. I am not working right now, but I used to work with low-income families with children with autism and the resources are so minimal. Many children do not receive proper diagnoses until they are school age (if ever) and the supports provided for these children are strictly behavioral. The understanding that this is a medical condition with underlying infections just isn't there. I experienced this with my own pediatrician who told me that the only thing that would help our son would be ABA. He doesn't believe in diet change, bio-med, anything. Needless to say, he's no longer our pediatrician, but that shows you how far we have to go in our understanding of autism. He was one of the " progressive " pediatricians in our area, too. Ugh! na > > Additional comment: the autism rate is growing rapidly here too, with the additional disadvantage of having very little autism dedicated organisations, 3 docs doing DAN similar protocols, very very little known about bio-med or dietary interventions. So most kids here receive the wrong diagnose and are destined to a life of third-world used psychotropic meds or being in a mental institution. Horribly sad.....most are declared mentally defficient and don't even have the slightest chance for proper treatment. > (Siiiigghhhh) > Isa > > Enviado desde mi oficina móvil BlackBerry® de Telcel > > Incandescent lightbulbs to be phased out-- will Mexico do the same? > > It turns out the USA is going to be phasing out incandescent light bulbs starting in 2012. I heard from a Canadian friend that Canada will be phasing them out as well. Does anyone know if Mexico will do the same or have any other ideas for alternative safe light sources?
