Guest guest
Hi All; My eldest daughter is going nuts. Attacking me and throwing furniture... Does anyone have any suggestion of how much calming supp to give her to essentially sedate her asap? Here are the calming supps I have on hand: GABA 5 HTP Inositol L-theanine Magnesium citrate Travacor (calming supp) Bach's rescue remedy Kavinace (GABA derivative, also calming) Any suggestions appreciated... She attacked her E.A (educational assistant here in Canada) today. Grabbed her by the throat and wouldn't let go. She was set off by the sound of my 4 year old's voice - he also attends the same school. E.A went to the doctor and has bruising, is traumatized. I'm so upset. I will have to put her on risperidol - she is attacking everyone/thing. I am afraid of what is going to happen with the school board etc. I have been resisting meds for over 4 years (when the aggression started to escalate). Very upsetting. Thanks for letting me vent. Guest guest
It's also a full moon tomorrow and that seems to make everything worse here. We've been using a homeopathic remedy antimonium crudum for the full moon. It's been minimizing behaviors greatly. Our natural doctor suggested it to us. I was able to get it at vitamin shoppe. We're using 5 30c pellets. The dose lasted about 3 months for us. I gave it about 4 days before full moon or when I saw the dose was no longer working. I don't know if it will work with your child since they are all so different. Google it ad see if it fits. Good luck. Please help Hi All; My eldest daughter is going nuts. Guest guest
My child has autism with PANDAS but no lyme. He does well on daily azithromycin although we did need to move forward and do IVIG and have done 5 so far. The IVIG has helped the most. He is not a gut kid so the antibiotics do not bother his gut. Guest guest
If your child has PANDAS and they have not responded to antibiotic treatments or other treatments, it maybe a call to get the tonsils out. I hated to have my son's taken out, but nothing would get rid of it, we did Homeopathic remedies, herbs, IVIG, antibiotics finally I had to say, its time. IF your child is acting aggressive, all kinds of behaviors, go see if they have active Strep right now! That will answer lots of questions. And would sound like you need to take steps to get the tonsils out. Some kids just are not responding to all the treatments. For the ones who have made it out of the woods, good for you. Its no surprise many of these kids have strep, some of the vaccines have strep added to them, so all these layers of infection invading our kids. The tonsils sit right under the brain, so if they are holding strep, its going right into your childs brain, on a regular basis. And forget about having a restful nights sleep, strep disrupts that too. If you need some faster help now. I would add Olive leaf extract ( 1/3 the adult dose for a child, 3-4 times a day). Give Grapeseed Extract for a week, 1- 2 times a day ( again 1/3 dose adult dose listed on the bottle - do not give the liquid - give the pills/ capsules) Load up on Probiotics - 3 times a day. Goldenseal Root ( same dose as already mentioned). Please see your DR, as I am not a DR and only give ideas. She has PANDAS which is making her very aggressive I can't take her to grocery store or park anymore. She had her TONSILS REMOVED when she was 7. Tonsil removal is not the answer in some cases its bad. Guest guest
My aggressive girl also had her tonsils removed, and it didn't make a difference. I researched this a while back, and I found that some get better, some get way better, some get worse, and some no change. Odd, I know. Sorry that it's so complicated to choose what to do. Love and prayers, Heidi N
Guest guest
Aggression is always bacteria for my son. If it comes with OCD, inability to fall asleep, eye tics and excessive urination it is strep and we treat with augmentin. Otherwise, flagyl fixes it. Guest guest
Thanks to all who have replied to my post. Since I have been at this for 8 years to no avail (antibiotics, herbal remedies, dietary control etc etc) I am forced to try medication to (hopefully) control her aggression. When your child grabs someone by the neck and tries to strangle them, it forces you to take drastic measures. I would love to retry prescription antibiotics for strep etc but I will have to try stablizing her behaviour with meds before I can try again. Guest guest
Thanks so much Sara. It's been a hard guilt pill for me to swallow... I feel like I have failed her, not finding the " right " treatment over these past 8 years - to at least get her to a higher level of functioning... Putting her on meds was always something I thought I would never have to resort to... Every time I give her a dose of meds I think about all the dreadful side effects. But yes, there is no denying something must be done to prevent dangerous behaviour. Yes, I continue to ask God for guidance. Kim > > > > Thanks to all who have replied to my post. Guest guest
Kim, You would be failing her if you never tried to do anything for her. And I would venture to say that she could have been much worse had you not done anything for her. And again, none of this medication stuff has to be permanent. No guilt, you are doing the best you can do, and that is all that you can possibly do Blessings, Sara > > > > > > Thanks to all who have replied to my post.
