Guest guest
I have always heard that 6 wks. is the minimum you want to do. Tammy F. Thanks for the input. The tick was biting me but I kept on scratching at the spot over my heart so I moved it around several times, thus the multiple bites. My general doctor just gave me a script for Doxycycline 200mg twice daily enough for two days' worth. The Lyme doctor I spoke to says he would put me on this dose for SIX WEEKS!! I had a very bad (documented in text books) bulls eye Lyme rash and was very sick from it years ago so am now very upset about this. Have to decide tonight whether or not to go to this expensive Lyme doctor tomorrow for such a long-term abx script or, since I caught this right away and was able to remove the entire tick, if the two days of doxy would be good enough? Thank you for any suggestions. > > The usual treatment for very recent tick bites is antibiotics, unless > people have a chronic health problem that renders them sensitive to > antibiotics.
