I also like the internet because people do see us as we are inside the

real us without the " baggage " attached to bodies and sizes. However, it

seems that people either " cotton " to me or think I am too " blunt. " I do

tend to say what I am thinking which does get me in trouble at

times!!!!!

Anyway, I never once imagined you as overweight! I also didn't realize

how tall you are. (When one is 5 " 2 " and shrinking, I have lost two

inches in a year due to spondylosis, 5' 10 " is TALL!!!!) I was

picturing in my mind someone with red hair, about 5' 5 " and around 140

to 150 pounds.

Most of all I have admired your pluck and ability to make lemonade out

of lemons. You are opinionated, a fine quality in my book but you also

listen to others.

I know what it is like to deal with multiple disabilities and chronic

illnesses even though mine are different than yours. I think you are

remarkable and have thought that since I met you on another list that we

were both on briefly last summer.

Ah the internet, we really are anonymous is ways aren't we!

Cheers,

Ardee-ann

PS--Loved the pictures of Zeke, he looks like one spoiled pup! Reminds

me of a few rotten hounds who live around here!

always said I didn't eat enough to " choke a cat " .

,

My husband always said that I didn't eat enough to " feed a bird. "

However, I always reminded him that I'm certainly not skinny, so I must be

getting enough food :-) I'm hypothyroid -- on medication, but can't

tolerate a full dose, so that probably has something to do with it. I'm

sure the prednisone has something to do with your gaining weight, as a

friend of mine is on it, and she used to be very slim until the

prednisone -- she had a double lung transplant.

This is in response to the " feed a bird " remark...people always used

to say that to me until I kept reminding them that birds can eat up

to three times their body weight in one day. :)

Until I got diabetes, I had no idea how to lose weight. I

ate very balanced, good meals.....according to the American Dietetics

Association. I even ate small portions.

Years ago, I lost 30 lbs. on Weight Watchers, and I think that helped

me.... not the foods exactly, as there are too many carbs in the WW plan,

but writing everything down, taking notes, and weighing... all part of WW.
