All I remember is that it was milk free and targeted towards the krebs cycle. Allo f the ingredients were succinates and fumarates. Mike was getting 1g per day at age 5.Subject: Re: high Ammonia- articles that might helpTo: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Date: Wednesday, June 29, 2011, 4:12 PM

Could you explain about the tyrosine? We have been trying to get this on board

for thyroid function. We work up slowly and have had no luck sustaining it.

Without fail, the neuro irritabiliy appears. My daughter does have the

hyperventilation periodically that I assoc w ammonia. It responds well to Yucca

as Yasko suggests.

you can google liver failure, and you will find that one of the reasons for hepatic encephalopathy and coma in people with severely impaired liver function is that that blood-brain barrier becomes more permeable, and the aromatic amino acids tyrosine and tryptophan, and even false neurotransmitters get into the brain. In order to remedy this, BCAA sit on the carriers that ferry those aminos across that barrier, allowing fewer of them to cross. You can google Braverman and his work with amino acids several decades ago and read more detailed information. A physician by the name of Buist from Australia used to

admit kids with behavior/psychiatric issues to the hospital and test themfor compounds in food that triggered their anxiety/ADD/aggression. Tyrosine,

phytates, salicylates and many more compounds in foods were identified by him as triggers. He wrote a book called Food Chemical Sensitivities that went into his results in great detail.Mike clearly had a problem with aromatic AAs, despite a normal amino acid screen for them. Eventually, he was shown to be making toxic metabolites of tryptophan in his GI tract. A homeopathic that speeds up excretion of these compounds made a huge difference. You can look up homeopathic remedies indole, skatole, and cadaverine for the specific indications for their use. The key indicators for using the indole remedy are constant motion of the fingers and feet, a raised red rash on the cheeks, and having a hard time getting up in the morning. That fit Mike to a tee. We also tried to add tyrosine for thyroid without success. Mike is doing very well on potassium iodide and LDN.- On
