Thank you Melinda for your input. My son is really s difficult child. Today has been a long tough day.FranselSender: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Date: Thu, 19 May 2011 15:04:04 -0000To: <BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism >ReplyTo: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Subject: agression/school I read this thread where a child was asked not to come to school until they have an emergency IEP but didn't have time to respond ... and the thread is now confused with other subjects ..I wanted to say this ..1. If the school ask you to keep your child at home ... I would say GREAT ... when is the homeschool teacher coming .. I expect service will be provided by tom. or you can speak to my lawyer. It is against the law for them NOT to provide ongoing services ... You will see how fast they will change their mind!2. As far as the aggression goes ... What behavioral plan DO they have in place. Bring an advocate with you to that meeting AND record it .. make the school responsible for letting you know WHAT they are doing to try to resonably change the behavior. They should have a plan in place with definate actions and reactions that ALL follow religiously reguardless of what your child is doing to try to defuse and overcome his issues ..3 .. What are you doing for his aggression? For our son his aggression was almost 100 percent eliminated through supplementation and diet ... We had his cholesterol levels checked. They were dangerously low ... Too low of cholesterol levels lead to aggression ... So our son takes Sonic Cholesterol. It nearly eliminated all aggressive behaviors. He also take liquid low dose lithium oratate ... it further reduced his aggression. We also have a PEC picture card with photos of different moods .. like happy, sad, sick, nervous, angry and ill. If our son is showing anger ... we get out his cards and ask him how he is feeling. He chooses off a picture and places it next to the sentence ... I feel ....Then we have cards for each one of those emotions that tell him what to do when he feels that way ..For example .. I feel angry. When I feel angry I want to throw things, or hit people or bite or pinch someone. When I feel this way I need to know it is ok to feel angry, but it is not ok to want to hurt someone else. When I feel angry, I need to stop, take a deep breath and then count to 10 slowly. When I am finished counting to 10 if I still feel angry I need to count some more and breath deeply again. I cn always ask my teacher/parents for help if I am angry and don't know what to do. I can go to a quiet area or I can ask for a break. If I am really angry sometimes it helps if I just sit down and think for a moment and take a break. We had to teach our son what was the RIGHT way to deal with anger ... because he just didn't know ...Melinda
