Guest guest
naI personally would NEVER use it. Too much of a pull with too many hours in between. I find Andy Cutler's explanation on safe mercury chelation to be the most sound option l have learned of, and such methods like Detoxamin go completely against the basis of low dose chelation. I have found very mixed reviews. On the Mercury-Autism board one parent said it caused his child a setback of 1 year in his recovery. I think the concern is mercury circulating since EDTA does not chelate mercury? Is this correct? Any feedback would be appreciated. I was told this product is great by an ND, but do not want to put my son at risk. Thanks,na
Guest guest
I used it for my son many years back. It was helpful for him. Guest guest
I used it myself na for a few mos. and had a lot of troubles (kidneys mainly). I'm looking for something more gentle even though my LLND wants me to continue w it. I think the mercury in my system may be the problem. Maybe those who dont have merc and lead do fine with it. Sure wish I could find out.good luck,To: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Sent: Mon, June 6, 2011 2:30:06 PMSubject: Re: Detoxamin Thank you Isa! Guest guest
He is 12 now...I probably used it when he was 5-7 years old. He really benefited from EDTA (as compared to the " AC protocol " which always made him bang his head, etc.). Better coordination, more exploring, more " with it " . I stopped since it is a suppository and he started fighting it. I would insert it when he was asleep to avoid the trauma/fighting. We did a few IVs of EDTA after the detoxamin and he then potty trained " overnight " after the 3rd IV. He was 6 at the time that he potty trained fully (had down the urine pretty well before the IVs). Guest guest
I've used Detoxamin's many times successfully but there were times when they didn't make me feel well. I'm not sure what was different about those times. Perhaps a good muscle tester or ART practitioner would help in determining if your son is in a place where he could benefit from using them. Guest guest
Thanks Thane! I think that's good advice. We will definitely test, if I decide to try it. na > > I've used Detoxamin's many times successfully but there were times when they didn't make me feel well. Guest guest
Thank you for letting me know this. My mom used it and felt similar issues with her kidneys. It must be very strong. na > > > > na > > I personally would NEVER use it. Too much of a pull with too many hours in > >between. Guest guest
Hi Thane, Good that you are doing your research. According to Cutler PhD, EDTA is not appropriate for mercury toxic people, as it forms complexes with mercury rendering it harder to remove from the body. Moreover, any chelator needs to be dosed according to half-life over a period of time to allow for steady removal instead of stirring up and redistributing the toxins. A suppository a day does not accomplish that. That's why I have an unused container of Detoxamin from way back that I don't know what to do with. RecoveryFromAutism is a useful group to learn about chelating kids safely.
